Are they affected by our weapon dmg or just a set value, and heard they dont give exp if they kill sometimes, anyone have an idea if this is all the time or just random?

If you do not hit it with a regular shot you get no exp, so just make sure you pop it once. I believe the dmg of the weapon affects the dot. I can do 900 point dots with a laser rifle, but can never get that high with a DLT20a.
