Thread: How do rifleman kill with one shot???

I see rifleman doing tons of damage but I don't understand how. What shot are they using?? All of the special moves I have looked at only have a damage modifier of 2. What else causes the hits to go well past 1k???? 2x330 doesn’t equal 1k. Thanks. An explanation using the damage modifier and bonuses would be great.

Check the response to my thread. There are hidden multipliers based on your weapon's AR versus the target's AR.

Also, a poweredup T21 rifle has a max damage rating of like 550.

Well, I haven't quite gotten my damage up past 1k yet (the biggest I've seen has been about 650-700), but I think part of it depends the shot choice and part is the creature you're fighting. Different creatures have different types of damage they are more susceptible to and armor rating comes into play as well. I'm not able to site specific creature susceptibilities right now, but I can give the brief synopsis on armor ratings and special moves.

If you are using aLaser Rifle with an armor rating of 2 and up to 290 damage (base, unsliced, etc), then when you are fighting a creature with an armor rating of 0, you automatically do up to 453.125 points of damage. Then you factor in the special move multiplier, and you can do significantly more damage. For example, Headshot 3 does x1.5 damage and Mindshot 2 does x2 damage. Therefore, that could result in Headshot 3 doing 679.6875 damage and Mindshot 2 doing 906.25 damage.

Also, as mentioned, this is based on the basic average stat for the weapon type, not whatever weapon may have been crafted with a better schematic or a sliced weapon or a weapon using a power-up. Those could have significant influences on the damge done as well.

Just my take on it.

Pecos,

What server are you on? Because I can't find a T-21 to save my life on Tarquinas.

On certain servers you the resources havnt spawned. The one shot rifles, are mostly the E11(on smaller mind people), Laser Rifle, and T21. E11 and Laser Rifle are AR2, and T21 AR3, and since msot people dont wear armor, its quite a boost. You wont see the boost to dmg on your combat screen, but over his head. With my E11, I do anywhere from 900-1200 always. So the rare people with 1000 mind, I try and avoid.

Aldeon,

Cool, thanks. Good to know, because I've used an E11, but I never noticed that much of a damage difference before (but I was only looking in the combat log, not above the target's head). You haven't heard anything from Dev's or others about when they are considering spawning some of the T21 resources on the other servers have you?

Thanks

I havnt mentioned it becuase its suppost to be random spawns, and everyonce in a while its suppost to pop on its own. If it doesnt pop anytime soon, I will be mentioning it though. Alot of us think there punishing SS, since most of the Faction Exploits and XP exploits started here.

Ouch, well the punishment is being felt then. I hope it clears up soon. The only good thing about it may be that other professions are getting out of hand as well, so maybe that will take their minds off of us for a while...heh.

Just pipe dreaming, I guess.

Rifle damage is also front-loaded and depends on the speed of the weapon.

Example, your weapon does X DPS. IF your delay is 10 seconds , your weapon's damage will be 10xDPS BEFORE the special attack multipliers.

Lets take an imaginary rifle whose DPS= 30 and has a delay of 7 seconds. YourAVERAGE shot will be 30x7=210. This is a NORMAL attack and will be further modified with special attack bonuses if you use them.

These are just approximations so dont flame me if I'm not dead on within one decimal point or **edit** like that.

thats cause they're melee...

you expect a melee-er to make his way to a marksman and expect to hit 3-4 times? =)

btw 3700 is still a wowie number, melee or not. lol
