Rifleman Archive

I'm currently a 0-0-3-1 Pistoleer. But, I'm starting to get bored with it, that and the fact that everyone and their mother is a Pistoleer. So, I'm thinking of switching to Rifleman, but I'm not familiar with all the pros/cons of the Rifleman.

So .... What's good about the Rifleman? What's bad?

pros : we can hit mind

cons: 3x normal melee damage taken, low dps, crap accuracy, bad ideal range, broken trees,only able to hit mind which makes grouping bad until high levels, most of our skills dont do anything, no knockdown, HUGE ham costs... say 200 MIND per shot, theres more im just to tired to write anymore

Maybe I'll just stick with the Pistoleer.

Ivon, great post. Got the class in a nutshell.

Grinding weapon exp with a rifle is definantly not fun ... pistols are cake compared to it. At the moment we are a fairly underpowered profession, with the exception of masters. If you're looking for a challenging, but rewarding (at master) profession, then take up the way of the rifle. If you're looking for quick gratification, stick with your pistol. Hopefully in the near future we'll get some love thrown our way though, so keep on the lookout for that.

If you want to snipe, be a BH and use eyeshot, it's much better at damaging mind compared to rifles. If you want something to just slaughter anything quickly, go commando. Any other ranged class at the moment is obsolete.

heh, the only reason I became a riflemen was because I'm a medic too, and since I have a ass huge mind bar, it works for me

I love rifleman. I was a BH before it just wasnt as fun. Yes novice rifleman is very tough and hard to gain xp at first. Once you start getting rifle speed mods, your xp will start to fly in. The thing I do hate most tho is the 2.5x melee damage, specially with a warping mobs.

to stop the melee damage switch to a melee weapon, i'm a rifleman/fencer and it's good xp for both professions
