Thread: Do we still take 2x damage?
Personally this seems like a horrible developing move. This shows poor developing within SOE. Why? Because it makes no sense. If I put down a rifle in real life and get hit, then pick up a rifle and get hit again, I'm not going to be more hurt from the second attack. What they need to do is figure out a way that's completely more logical than taking the easy, utterly stupid way of saying "Okay, let's just make Rifleman take 2x (or 2.5x) more damage! AND let's make them walk slower!"
I suggest we bring this issue to the developers....and perhaps have them figure out a more reasonable and seemingly fair way to deal with it....that is only if, of course, most of you agree with me. If most of you are okay with recieving 2.5x-ish damage, then say so.
Once you explain to them that we're taking 2.5x damage while standing up, then they call you on bull**edit**. "Sony isn't THAT dumb. It's only when you're prone!".
I don't know why it isn't just a standard 2.5x damage while prone for ANY weapon. I'm sure if you're lying prone with a pistol, that melee'er is gonna do a hellova lot of damage to you regardless of what weapon you're holding. (well, maybe less with a rifle, but we're not taking into account logic here)
Wouldn't this be far easier? This subject has been pounded into the ground again and again and again. The fact is, riflemen dying constantly to melee warping at 2.5x damage is not a main concern of SOE. There are far more bugs, imbalances and broken classes for them to worry about our little 2.5x damage.
