Thread: 2.5x Melee Damage got you down? Try this solution!
With the skill point shuffle my marksmen tree looks like this 4/0/0/4. If its not a rifle, Im screwed right?
When thebad guys get close enough to punch your face like a heavy weight boxer, continuing with your heavy rifles is a lucky shot at best.What options do we have? The spraystick looks like a can of mace but is still a "rifle" in SWG land, it still brings youa 2.5x melee damage penalty.
Consider this other option, a D18 pistol! Its the only non-cdef pistol you can use with a 4/0/0/4. Ask a quality weaponsmith to make you a Krayt Tissue D18 Pistol. Its an odd request so after he giggles at you, you may have to explain!
Switching to this pistol when you've lost your range may save your hide, the 2.5x demage penalty goes away, and you have a better point blank weapon then a spraystick. Switch toyour pistol sidearm and try to achieve your range again. Once you do, switch to your heavy rifles and call your momma.
Ive played a few hours with this pistol it has proven incredibly useful and fun, the high price is worth every benefit it brings you. No wasted skill points on pistols either.

Stats of the Krayt Tissue D18 pistol....
Virgin : approx 50-150 damage, 1.4 speed, HAM 11/21/11
Sliced : speed slice of 19% brings the speed to 1.1
Final after max/min damage powerup : approx 65-200 damage, 1.1 speed

Incidentally, my Old School T21 stats are: 215-550 damage, 9.2 speed
So the average unstyled damage per second with a Krayt D18 Pistol (earned at Novice Marksman) is 120.45.
The average unstyled damage per second with my Pre-Nerf T21 (earned at Novice Rifleman) is 41.57.

hope yourfactoring your rifle speed and damage multiplier bonuses into that....
Im workin on acquiring a high end kraytlaser or t21, but the costs increase substantially.
That pistol just makes your life as a riflemen easier, this thread isnt meant to be a moaner or groaner.
