Thread: rifleman=useless
and corespondant what you doing? now the T21 is useless, cost me about the same mind that i can take out from one PC ennemy
PVP is no fun as a MASTER rifleman, commando kill you in one shot, melee ppl kill you in 2 shot and you do so low damage on him is ridiculous, BH kill you too in one shot, and me i use headshot3 doing 50 to 160 damage with a **edit** T21 crap.
so whats next pillows?
i tried duel with every profession except carbine, trying every possible strategy, and bottom line, lets all be a commando, or anything else than a rifleman
btw i got 1000mind, 900 willpower and 500 focus, well its only helping to regen when i am sit lol
in combat i suck too much, i am master CH too, and without my pets i wont be able to kill anyone, not even a novice commando, melee....so can you see a problem here or continue to say our class is now all fixed?
i am serious and lots of pa member are, either we all go commandos or simply quit this non sence game
W-T-F you didnt balance in BETA
Socria you are now the poster child for all the whiners. Over exagerations, no clue what so ever about what it means to be a Master Rifleman in PvP, and crying about all the other professions.
I agree withSilverLobo for once your a whiner.... Here is my advice to the fellow rifleman
As a master rifleman, You are a SERIOUS threat in PvP. Most commandos will be dead before you are if you start firing first most of the time at max range. (unless he gets a lucky hit which happens)
Head shot 3 is a joke, DONT USE IT.
Use powerups on your guns, i know i do better when i do but i always forget LOL
T 21 is a nerfed gun, many use lasers and thats pobally better than most unless you have scaled up the speed tree with a good t 21 sliced for dmg.
I HIGHLY recoment getting flurry shot 1 asap. Dizzy effect now is nerfed but the attack does good random ham dmg that is helpfull in groups.
For you soloers get conseal shot and use aim before every fire.
Yes you novice rifleman get GIMPED but if you work your ass off and get master rifleman you will understand why the devs are unwilling to make the rifleman any more powerfull, though i do want dizzy back in PvE=(
In regards to PvP, i dont want it this way but untill you get speed 3your not going to do much in PvP other than die. I think its not balanced that rifleman are so screwed at novice. My opinion ismore speed bonuses should be shifted lower in the tree but that's the way the game is, so deal with it =(
perhaps i do whinne, but why we were nerfed? cause it seems from other profession we were too powerfull(that i doubt it) now other profession can single shot you and make you incap is that fair?
is that fair that our rifleman weapon(T21) is useless cause it cost too much in ham to use, and that it is doing less to none damage?
is it fair that other profession can own you like you were a newbie even if they are novice in their class?
well i know i am not the only one who think that, cause i know a lot of rifleman who changed class, and why is that eh?
cause they felt they had better chance to PVP in other class than rifleman, and now most of them do have more chance
why is overcharge is again my best friend(cost me less ham to do it and do more damage where it count) and thats a marksman skill?
i dont know if you pvp guys, i know in pve rifleman works like it is supposed to, try duel a melee, try duel a commando, try duel a BH and then come back here
even a pistoleer/smuggler will kick your ass in second
i dont know perhaps my weapons sucks, perhaps my armor sucks, perhaps.......
anyway i am sure i am not alone that feel that with all the nerf and the "balance" they made that now rifleman is useless in some way
i think every class should have a chance to take another one, talking about combat class here
anyway yea right i cry and cry lol
Socria,
First off, ignore Silverlobo. He gets a positive thrill out of being nasty to anyone that disagrees with him about where riflemen stand in the chain of combat. I think it motivated by the fact that he fears if novice riflemen get some sort of concideration from the developers that it will hurt the high end of the profession where he is at.
Having said that, I would like to tell you that I also have been a discouraged riflemen off and on through the hellish grinding for xp. You should understand from square one that it will not be easy or even particulary fun till you hit master. It took me along time to come to grips with that. The only thing that kept me from jumping track to another weapon is that fact that I am dedicated to following the original idea I had for my character.
If you are only concerned about PVP, then you need to go off somewhere like the Tusken Fort and grind xp like mad so you can get to master level quickly. Only at Master level will you truely be able to stand up for yourself and make those arrogant fools pay their pound of flesh for your hide. If you are more concerned with PvE then you need the best Laser rifle and Spraystick you can find. Most master level weaponsmiths should be able to make a Laser with 375 at the max dmg. range. Get it slicedand pray for dmg slice then go and find the best dmg powerups you can afford. If you are on Ahazi then go check out Az' in Kaadara. He makes +33maxdmg +16minimumdmg powerups. A crate of 10 will cost you 5k. This should bring you up to a nice dmg indeed. Then get conceal shot as soon as you can. This will be your shot of choice in PvE. Just remember that till it gets fixed it is worthless against pack animals. But it hits like a train and doesn't cost a whole lot if you are smart about armor choice. I recommend sliced composite gloves and maybe some boots if you think you really armor. Anything more and you are just hurting yourself with ham penalty. Remember mindshot 1 & 2 are your best friends when it comes to creature pummeling. You want to stack both of them then peace out. Wait for sucker to tick off it's first bleed hit then suppress shot it.
Before suppress wears off, you should be able to get off a head shot 2 for alittle long range pain. Switch to your spraystick quickly and fire off a warning shot as soon as it starts moving toward you again. As soon as you see it turning around to run off peace out then follow it. When it starts to turn around and chase you again suppress fire it again and repeat the whole cycle. As an alternative, if you have conceal use that till you miss twice and it aggros you. Hit it with suppress fire and while it is rooted in place hit it for the bleeds and then start this chain of combat moves to finish it off. The main thing to remember is that NO we can't the big things in one hit like the rest of them can, but with some common sense and an understanding of how our shots work and what shot groups well with what shot we can thrive in an arena of much better killers. Think support class till master and you will have the mind set needed to slug it through. If none of this sounds like your idea of fighting you might actually be better off with another weapon. You have 15 a month for this game and you might as well enjoy it. Don't think that rest of us will stop trying to get some improvements to the class. I honestly believe we need some reconcideration of our line from the Developers. Our elite weapon needs be redone yet a third time as the dmg vs. ham cost is ridiculous. And some obvious improvements to the lower end part of the profession need to be implaced. Till then, those of us that are planning on tuffing it out will just have to bite downand hard keep firing even when we feel like a fool for working over a giant sand beetle for several minutes and see some BH or Commando killing Kimogila's and Krayts in a few shots.
Other feel your pain, take some comfot in that. Your not the only one that hates this profession at times. I think all of us with the exception of Silverlobo have felt that we are fools for sticking with it. But, you can feel some pride in the fact that there are **edit** few of us. You are a member of a small dedicated fraternity and if you need to vent in this forum from time to time to clear your mind so you can continue the grind, then do so. Don't let someone make you feel like a whiner or a loser just because you are discouraged and chose to voice it. It's your right as a paying customer to have your say. No everyone will agree or sympathise, but then that's THEIR right as well. In the end, it all comes down to how badly you want that master ranger title...
what Tsalmaveth said
He hits it in every way possible which would lead me to believe he is "playing the character" not doing everything he can think and using every single little bug and exploit his way to master rifleman.
Kudos to you Tsalmaveth
How can you say Master Rifleman + Master CH is underpowered? You can strafe 2 for 800+ damage AE every 2 seconds and you have a 12k HAM pet that hits for 500 damage. lol if you cant win with these advantages your in trouble.
G
i dont say master rifleman+ master CH is underpower, but master rifleman alone in pvp do sucks, i dont know why we got this terrible penality against melee ppl and since commando with for exemple flamethrower is like melee ppl
in pvp the most damage i've done was against another rifleman and it was for 350 something damage
against melee i barely scratch them like commandos and that is without armor
anyway i'll try again for a few weeks or days, but i would like to pvp but now like it is it is hard too hard for a rifleman to have any chance in pvp with all the nerfing they made for our class ![]()

Socria already indicated that he was a master rifleman, and was still complaining about the effectiveness at master rifleman. I think Silverlobo was pretty justified in calling this a whine. I'm not sure anyone argues against the point that pre-master riflemen have problems, but master is a completely different story.
