I just have a quick question for riflemen. What kind of speed and damage are you all looking for in Laser Rifles, Bowcasters, or any other rifles? I am able to make Bowcasters in the 320 max damage range and Laser Rifles in the 420 max damage range both unsliced. The speed on the Bowcastersare around 5-5.5 and a not very quick 6-6.5 on the Laser Rifle. Would these draw any interest from riflemen or marksman working on rifles?

Thanks

Nice bowcasters ^_^

the laser rifle might be better if it was faster with less damage as most riflebeings use it to grind with and not as their uber damage dealer later in life. Speed > Damage for riflebeings when grinding. Otoh I would love to have one with the higher damage at master. If you can hold of crafting them for about 1 week. By then we might have a clue where the CU is going.

You Laser is sweet. Like was said above a speeder one would be nice for grinding.

I also have to say that as number of WSs on my server sell unstocked Lasers along side ones like yours. Not every one hunts buffed all the time...

Honestly the only real downside to the LR is the wide spread in damage. Given that your typical LR is 75 - 400 damage this causes an average DPS to be all over the place meaning that it's not really a good weapon to grind with considering that a speed sliced T21 (4.9 to speed) will do far more DPS than a speed slicedLR (4.1 to speed). With that said, and having crafted many weapons including rifles, there isn't much use for any of the laser style weapons when looking at the mathematical value. A max damage of 790 is great; however, if the minimum is around 125 then there is too much room for variation causing DPS to fall short.

About the best a WS can do is insure they're a 12 point crafter in a research facility and using the best resources possible. Experiment for damage in the stock, handlers (use highkrayt tissue if possible)and barrel though the quality of the resources involved have a direct effect on the overall power of the weapon. Toss on a scope with max range in mind for better ideal range modifiers and pray for a good damage slice. If it were ever possible to get the min/max damage to around a 250 point difference then the LR would be a rather formidable weapon to use. About the best use for the LR would be by those grinding out Marksman and those who are grinding from Rifles 4 - Novice; however, a Gorax enhanced Spraystick while using Point Blank Area 1 (Novice Marksman) is the fastest way to grind rifle xp until novice.
