Hey everybody.

I am a master rifleman, and i have spent all my credits in aa that i have put on my pvp composite armor.

I have +25 block +25 accuracy +25 accuracy while moving, i have spend all my credits for that.

But with the cu coming, maybe riflemen won't be able to use composite armor anymore, so what about all of this stuff ?

Will we be able to retrieve our aa the first days in order to put them on our new armors ?

Can't we ask this to developers ?

If these aa are lost definitely i don't know what i'll do .....

All current armor is going through a conversion process so your composite should be changed into something you can wear. As to how it will be done we have not seen the mechanism yet.

UPDATE march 31 2005:

i wonder what's going to happen to the weapons and of course armors we have now? are they going to be converted? are they going to be useless junk?

hmmm...

All items will be converted in the Combat Upgrade. Weapons, Armor and all things combat related will be changed. As a general rule, if you hada great itembefore, you should have a great item after the conversion. As we get closer to the live publish, we will be posting more conversion guides to help answer questions during the transition.

Ok so, if i have understood what you said, my composite armor will be converted in the armor wich better suits rifleman ?

If it is right, it is really a great thing !!!! And I'll be really grateful to the devs for this great work !!!!

that is the current idea...

It I suspect will not be converted to factional armor ( ) but you should be able to pick any of the types that do work for your profession that are none factional.

Yeah I have same concern....

Another worry I have is that the new armour types seem designed specifically for certain types of combat. So it will really suck if your modded armour got converted to a type that you would only be good for pvp or only be good for pve - it would limit you in the types of combat you did or mean going out and buying a whole new load of attachements.

IMO it would be a better idea if we were allowed to remove the attachments from the armour before it gets converted - and then choose what we are going to put them into.

  • your professions will determine what type of armor you can wear notwether themission you are on is pvp or pve.

  • theyshould give you the option of what type you want to convert it to

  • they will probably not allowremoval ofattachments as they want them to decay

  • Skill tapes etc will not be as important post cu

Wish I could tell you. But to be honest I don't know. This is something that we'll have to look at and test in Beta.

This is a major concern amongst a number of us. And it is something that we will specifically testing.

Will your Composite be convereted? Again I don't know.

If I had to guess. And this is only a guess. I'd say yes on the SEAs. Because of their cost and rarity it will be a major issue. Armor is readily available and relatively inexpensive. So that may not be converted.

we don't know yet, and speculating at this point may do more damage than good.

EDIT: specifically, the early open testing will NOT involve item conversion... we're starting out on a blank server, so there won't be anything to convert.
