Thread: Did I read correctly DOT weapons are DOA?

Know a WHOLE lotta people (me NOT included) that have spent UBER MILLIONS on DOT weapons that will (soon) go 'poof'.

God help ya if you had a bunch you wanted to sell....lol

Well they probably should have seen the writing on the wall with the 3000 use max change. For months now we have been cautioning against spending millions upon millions for legendary and exceptional weapons and dot weapons. No one listened and if you have used them in pvp - good your got your value for them.



btw: I looted a NS lance yesterday with a 8000 use 247 potency 592 str mind poison and a 8000 use 337 potency 280 heath disease. Pretty good but it went into my bank as I knew I would not be able to sell it.

They aren't exactly going 'poof'. The weapons are suppose to be converted. There just won't be DoTs on them anymore.

I'm betting we will see them converted into skill bonus weapons. Instead of having some uber mind fire, you will get a +7 to accuracy or speed or terrain neg. or something.

maybe theyll avg out numbers for dot stats and then add it to the dmg of the weapon? so its still uber

Is this a contradiction? they will work as they did before but have been removed from the game?

One could interpret that to mean that fire specials, bleed specials, and CM DOTs will remain.

It means just what it means.... If you have an attack which can apply a DOT... it's still there... Dot's on weapons... kiss em goodby.

too lazy to get the quote but the devs also said something like "if you have the best weapon on your server now, it will still be the best after the CU", i assume/hope dots will be taken into consideration... of course it doesn't affect me because i have none but that would be lame for people who did.
