Thread: Fix Conceal Shot NOW!!!!

A concealed shot, by definition, states that on success, your target will not know where the shot came from. A more literal definition should be, on a successful shot, no one will know where the shot came from. I am very bitter about this useless skill. I have just suffered from my ... ump-teenth death due to this failure of a skill. What good is a skill where ONLY the target you hit doesn't know where it came from, and the rest of the MoBs around charge you like you're a Klan member at the NAACP? The only time Conceal Shot is worth while is when there is only one single solitary target in the middle of nowhere. If there is a group, ... go ahead and take a chance, but I promise you that you'll get bum rushed. Please fix this skill so that it truely is a valid skill.

Works fine as long as you use it on non-social mobs.

Then if that is the case ..... Conceal shot is a useless skill period. How many non-social groups are in this game? Everything I come across is very social. Conceal Shot ... useless.

I agree. How much sense does it make that the target you hit 50 times in the fight doesn't see where the blows that are hitting him are coming from, but all his buddies looking around will all trun on you as soon as the first hit connects? Doesn't make much sense to me if they were going for something semi-realistic.

It doesn't help that they fired another wild shot at baz nitch missions and made them BAF, "fixing" more than the problem once again. Baz nitches were the best non-BAF creature for experience, but now that's ruined. As for conceal shot not working, it's not conceal shot that's the problem, it's the fact that the system is bugged.

1. conceal shot works great, test it on any non-social mob


2. you have to learn how to use it, retain appropriate range mainly.


3. conceal shot gets better as your concealment skill climbes as you go up your skill tree. did you notice the +20 to conceal each next advance in that line ?

Dude.... Look, I didn't just post this the second I got Conceal Shot and got rushed on the first group I tried to whack. I've noticed this over a couple of weeks. Read the post ... I'm sick of people who don't actually read what I say. "Conceal shot works great - test it on any non-social mob" Uhhhh ... didn't I say that it works for any mob solo, and that non-social mobs are few and far between? Learn how to use it ... Maintain appropriate range .... That was it, problem solved ... I was actually trying to use conceal shot from 60-64 meters from my target. Guess I'll get within 5 meters and try it there. You didn't grasp what I was saying. How stupid is it that only my target doesn't see where the shot came from while everyone else does. I must have picked the retarded one as my target. When something like this happens .... there is a problem.

What is the purpose of surprise shot anyway? All it says in the description is a sneak attack used from cover. That doesn't sound like it gives any bonuses, just you have to be in cover. And nobody uses cover because it is such hassle right now until they fix the tumbling issue.

Now that Nitches BAF I think Conceal Shot is pretty much a dead skill. It used to be good but there's no longer any decent mobs that we can use it on. I can't think of any mobs that gave good exp even at the tier one level (the level you get CS) that didn't BAF. The few mobs that aren't BAF at this level are so weak you can already kill them in the 3 free shots before they charge. By the time Headshot3 comes around you can kill just about any non BAF mob in a single hit. Nobody in their right mind is going to spend their time plinking away randomly at 3 health bars when they can HS3, Mind Shot 2, and Warning Shot.


Unless someone knows something I haven't thought of I think by fixing Baz Nitches they accidently ended our skill, now it needs to rebuilt so that it's feasible to use again. I think they need to add in powerful "loner" mobs that don't BAF but have so much HAM that people will want riflemen to soften them up before they attack.

same problem with cover too.

If you shoot at a social mob, (in cover) the animal hit will be like "**edit** was that?" while the rest of his buds are saying "it came from over there, GET HIM!"

-conceal shot doesnt work well.
-cover has the tumbe bug and the movement speed bug.
-sneak shot sucks because of the bugs with cover.
-covering fire 1/2 dont work well as of right now.

thats a LARGE portion of useless skills us rifleman have. Im not pleased with that.


*disclaimer* I know some of you out there will tell me im wrong on these points. Maybe i am. TO ME, these skills are worthless, and I've tried them in many many situations and the benefit given is marginal.

large nyms bases on lok, 16k missions, 4k xp per kill, all con yellow, nuf said!
