Rifleman Archive

You may notice the subject of this thread assumes that the T21 is going to be nerfed regardless of player opinion. Hey I'm a pessimist.

Anyhow the point of this thread is to ask, as a novice rifleman with a sliced Laser Rifle and steady stream of powerups that still is only fit to hold my BH andpistoleersfriend's cloak in combat, should I bother trying to make it to Master Rifleman?

Aldeon and others have made the benefits (AOE attacks, dizzying shots and, well that's about it) clear, but do they balance with say the benefits of BH, Pistoleer and Carbineer? Not to mention the fearsome TKA profession (I say this as a rifleman who missed his first shot on a TKA in PvP, and didn't get a second one as the TKA did 900 damage with a Spitting Rawl attack as I was trying to get up from prone to run away. This was after the 75% damage reduction meaning he actually did 3600 damage to me).

My holy grail, my reason to be a rifleman, was the AP3 T21, which I thought would let me hunt large solitary creatures (or non swarm creatures) like the Gualama and Bantha, maybe even mid level rebels solo(like captain - major) and actually acheive something. I thought that this gun would, with special attacks (like strafe shot for group work) make me a valued member of my PA when we group and attack NPC bases, instead of an XP leech, who can't pull their own weight.

Now that the T21 is going to be nerfed to the level of my laser rifle and below, can anyone higher up in the profession recommend in all honesty that I not surrender my rifle skills and go for pistoleer?
