These are a few calculations showing how the Pre- and post-nerf T21 compares to the Laser Rifle. If you don't want to read everything just jump to the bottom of the post that has a summary. Even if it doesn't matter I will post the stats with a 35% damage slice and 33% damage powerup simply as most people use this ingame. I'm using headshot3 for calculations which multiplies damage with 3. The numbers are fairly correct even if believe there is another multiplier that applies to all weapons as you usually can hit for about 25% more against creatures.

The laser rifle has a base damage of 290 which can today by good weaponsmiths be increased to about 365 (+-10). That's a 25% increase. A slice will increase this to 493 and a powerup will increase this to 655 (very close to my own 648 laser). Base time on a laser is 6.8, which by good weaponsmiths can be taken down to 5.8 (15% better). The laser also have medium AP which will make it do an extra 1.25*1.25 damage. The minimum damage of a laser is 20 and is not increased with slice only partially by powerupp.

Max damage for a laser with HS3 is: 655*1.25*1.25*3 = 3070

Min damage for a laser with HS3 is: 20*1.25*1.25*3 = 94

Average damage per second with HS3 is: ((3070+94)/2)/5.8 = 272.75 (In PvP 68)

The pre-nerf T21 has a base damage of 425 which at least with the resources on eclipse only could be raised to about 455. I will use 480 for the sake of the chance to get better resources though. Sliced and powerupped it would be 861. On eclipse it has a fire time of 9.2 but I'll count with 9.0 for possibility of better resources. AP is 3 so thats 1.25*1.25*1.25.

Max damage for pre-nerf T21 with HS3 is: 861*1.25*1.25*1.25*3 = 5044

Min damage forpre-nerf T21 with HS3 is: 150*1.25*1.25*1.25*3 = 878

Average damage per second with HS3 is: ((5044+878)/2)/9.0 = 329 (in PvP 82)

And so onto the post-nerf T21. We don't have any values of this except AP1 but they have said they will increase fire rate and lower max damage. I'll useattack time 7 andbase max damage 370 (only 55 less). Weaponsmiths should be able to increase it to 419. AP is 1 so it'll be 1.25. Sliced and powerupped it'll do 752 damage.

Max damage forpost-nerf T21 with HS3 is:752*1.25*3 = 2820

Min damage for post-nerf T21 with HS3 is: 150*1.25*3 = 562

Average damage per second with HS3 is: ((2820+562)/2)/7.0 = 241 (in PvP 60)

There is also something else to consider though. They didn't say anything about changing the mind pool cost. With Focud and willpower at 500 a laser rifle shot costs me about 125 mind pool. The T21 takes 23% more which will lead to 154 mind pool cost. This means that with the laser I could fire 8.8 HS3 with 1100 mind. With the T21 I can fire 7.1. This doesn't count regeneration though, but that would affect both weapons anyway. And with the new fire rate of the T21 this means we can fire for shorter period of time, and also doing less damage with these shots.

Summary

Average damage per second:

Laser Rifle: 272.75 (In PvP 68)

Pre-nerf T21: 329 (in PvP 82)

Post-nerf T21: 241 (in PvP 60)

This means our Rifleman weapon will now be significantly worse then a tier 2 marksman rifle. It will do less damage per second than a laser rifle and use more mind cost. Woho, way to go devs. Get this fixed NOW.

Just a sidenote. Remember that the stats on the post-nerf T21 is not known yet. But the major issue here is AP1, I didn't change the other stats that much but believe they are fairly close to what the devs will change.

i used my prenerf T21 in PvP today using HS3 it hit for 333 dmg..... these calculations by quas prove to me IMO to be 100% correct. um.... what is the deal changing the AP to LIGHT? **edit** its a T21 its suppose to be our BMG. now Laser rifle is the top gun....

Might I also add that my scout blaster with body shot 3 would do an average damage per second of 253... and it can be used from melee range to 64 metres.

Think it's funny the DEV's say "We dont wantT21 rifles doing 3k damage in one hit!" But think, that hit takes NINE seconds to go through. Pistol users can usually dish out 200-300 damage a second, what's that add up to x9? 1800-2100, and they deal damage consistently, we deal anywhere from 300-3000, pistoleers deal anywhere from 1800-2100 in the same time frame.

omg you mean snipers dont take out targets with one shot in RL??? so lame RIFLEMEN ARE SUPPOSED TO DO ALOT OF DMG. we shouldnt have to be a gimp class until we get to master either. As i see pistoleers already kicking ass a couple boxes into the profession. so all the masters out there can **edit** themselves cause its gay being gimped until master.

and some of our **edit** skills are still messed up. this is stupid, if they really nerf the AP to light and reduce the max/min damage, the laser rifle will be the rifleman's ideal weapon.

I dont mind the T21 nerf but only if they cut the HAM costs way down. That would make more sense to me because with the new patch its just a suicide machine.
