Thread: An idea for an add-on to the sniper 4 box

A second /aim command that allows us to target any pool. Basically you just target something and type in /aim helath and it'll do the normal aim skill (only little bit better for accuracy) and then fire a normal shot that will hit that HAM bar or maybe let it have a slight bonus to damage. Really its just giving a skill to a box that is more or less wasted. Ranged DB is great and I can't wait to get it...but unless I"m in PvP whats the point? Besides how hard is it to run up 60 meters.

i like that idea, but unfortunately, no non-riflemen will like it

I think it is a clever implementation, and I think the idea of it being normal damage, not a huge modifier, would go a long way to making it something that could be implemented, but I do not think that it will ever be implemented. But I applaud you on your creative thinking.

Unfortunatly that would make us to powerful. The only way this would work is if they got rid of the ability to do mind incaps which has been tossed around a little. I doubt they will do anything like that but that is the only way we would ever get that kind of skill. I certainly wouldnt mind targeting any bar. We will see. These games are usually so different about 6 months after the first come out that you may be right. They may just add something like this.


What they should do though is start creating elite-elite professions. That way we would have somewhere else to use our skills becides strictly the rifleman profession.

Well thats why I think it should be normal damage. Basically its the same as us simply attacking them, only it takes twice as long and we will hit 1 HAM bar specifically. Now targting mind like this would be stupid unless the HAM cost was considerably low so its really just a way to attack health or action once every 2 rounds of combat instead of once every 3 rounds idealistically. It really doesnt do any difference from auto defend like attack except give us a bit higher accuracy like /aim does now.


It fits in a role play aspect since after all a sniper will target any part of the body they want if they're good enough (end of full metal jacket comes to mind) and since the skill there is just a huge costing shot for 50 damage they can't say that its giving us too much at that "easily attainable" skill level. And it will help out us newb riflemen, or those that dont do combat that often for some reason since we will be able to actually help in groups.


I can't see too much of an uproar...maybe I should run this by the pistoleers and see what they say between the intermittent flame warring they seem like the most obvious people that will be against this primarilly out of spite for karma catching up to them.

I'd personally like to see them make a change to Snipershot. Leave it as is but also give it some kind of use in PvE for those of us that don't PvP. Maybe make it like a X4 damage (random pool?)with dizzy and stun effect or blind and stun or blind and dizzy. Just two two status effects that make sense. PvE only of course.
