Thread: Rifle Equivalency
I bought aT21 while back that was base damage 345 that damagesliced to 436. I have decided that, since they are so expensive, not to decay the T21 with powerups.
My question is, what damage Laser rifle would you have to have before you would set down the 436 T21 and pick up the Laser Rifle?
I have two laser rifles that are 500+, one is 526. Now in my mind, the AP3 of the T21 vs the AP2 of the Laser is like adding a 25% powerup to the T21, making it like a 545 damage. (Is this logic valid??).
- But the HAM costs are lower with the Lasers
- But the minimum damage is better with the T21
- But the Lasers are cheaper to replace
AAAaaahhhhhhhh!
What do you guys think?

The HAM on myT-21 is better than my Laser Rifle. /sigh
I use lasers for most anything. When I need a shot to count or do some really high damage(Flushing 2) I pull out the T-21.
I don't pay too close attention to what kind of damage I do, but I did notice an 11k hit with Flushing 2 from my T-21 recently. Yay!
As for the AP, I think the powerup analogy fits well. 
maybe someone better at math should be answering this but i only use my t21, the damage is 30 higher on my laser but i just get horrible results out of the thing. in fact... i kinda like using my new tusken over the laser if you want to know the truth!

Sorta. Not exactly, but sorta.
It depends on the speed of the rifles and the average damage per shot. So the minimum damage from the rifle is also important info.
If you happen to have the exact stats for these weapons, I'll be happy to run the numbers for you.

This is, in fact, precisely the situation the Effectiveness Ratings and Volsted Ratings were designed for.

Unlikely.
Broadly (very broadly) speaking, the T21 is one of the best weapons in the game from a pure damage perspective.
Factor in the HAM costs for specials and the Laser Rifle, the E11, and the DLT20a all compare favorably.
