Ok.. Terrain negotiation 50-100 govern your speed of crawling while prone. Rifle Crawl Speed Governs your speed of crawling with a Rifle..you get +25 as a master rifleman I believe.

now do these +75 points stack with each other for your crawl speed?

Forgive me since i'm a bit new....

I didn't even know you could move faster. What exactly would it be used for? Inching up on that 64m cap a little bit quicker?

how fast can you actually go while crawling? Assuming only Master RIfleman

I notice no difference in my crawl speed at all... :/

I believe it was something that was 'fixed' and no longer works. Not 100% though.

Hmm... any other feedback from anyone?

Would like to get a few opinions on this as it may affect my profession selection.. I may just drop Ranger.

Subject to my observations: In the early days a Rifleman would crawl almost as fast as other chars running. In the very early days, fast rifleman crawling would ignore terrain, so you would actually see some rifleman crawling up hills instead of running them when they didn't have any scout skills. For some reason that got nerfed/balanced/fixed/bugged/changed/redesigned at some point, now I think it's absolutely worthless.

But given the warping issues, who goes prone anyway?

When I first got the +5 crawl speed I was pretty excited, why? who knows, but anyway I thought I would try it out in a race against a fairly new character. The great crawl race across the starport, what else is there to do while waiting 9 minutes? Needless to say it was a tie. Now I don't believe I had a rifle equiped, maybe that makes a difference? But I deemed the skill worthless when me as a master scout/partial ranger with +5 crawl speed tied a novice scout.

rifle crawl speed doesn't work and its going away with the coming patch. It is being replaced with higher ranged defense mods, if i remember right. Go log on test center and check out the rifle changes, it looks pretty decent.

Terrain negotiation increases normal speed up hill. It does not effect crawl speed. (crawl speed does not seen to take terrain into account)

The only + to crawl speed was the rifle crawl speed modifier in the concealment tree. It has not worked since very early in the game.

The sneak skill allows riflemen to crawl while in cover.

Read the description in game for Terrain negotiation... points 0-50 affect runspeed up hills.. points 51-100 affect Crawl speed.

So rifle crawl speed doesn't work eh?.. hmm

also note that there is a bugwhen you get to the part were crawl speed is affected that using cover will make you go REALLY slow if you mapped it to a shift key and use shift to slow to walk (default key mapping).
