Thread: This server is getting out of hand
I dunno I might be wrong here, but who cares what SOE does to add content when it is simply impossible to actually play the game.
Dark Legion ran a little PvP at AH tonight when we got word that there was a force moving to attack our HQ. We headed out, and have spent the last hour, and STILL have not reached the HQ because the lag is soooo insane we are warping back every 30 sec.
Absolutely unbelievable that a company can alow their product to preform so poorly without any concern.
if you engage in any sort of mass pvp, the corbantis servers slow to a trickle
this is the way SOE and sony and the dev team works
sorta like the NBA, they already got paid this month, why should they give a flying rats ass what you care???

The whole Bestine Zone was like that on Tarq for a while, every day it would have 5-10 second lag on every action. My guild had to move our village because it got so annoying.
Back in the day Corbantis was pretty sweet. Dark Legion is a pretty large PA so we would make PvP runs on AH alot of times with 20+, a few times with 40, and the lag was not a issue at all.
It is just discouraging because that is why I play the game, I know we all have our own reasons, but I enjoy large PvP battles.
The same thing has been happening on the Scylla server; wicked lag whenever more then 5 people get into PvP. JustG acknowledged the problem, said that the team thinks it's related to the TEF housing "solution" they pushed live, and that the Devs have a solution to the solution testing on TC right now.

We've had the same problem on Naritus, though I'm curious how many people were involved in your battle.
There have been three 100+ player battle on Naritus and the lag was terrible, but obviuosly not so much as to prevent repeates. 10-20 player battles ussually do ok for us, which is good cause they happen regularly

If it is truely the house exploit fix causing the problem it would be pretty ironic, seeing that Dark Legion was the main reason that fix got done. We put, Wolve did alot, to get that exploit fixed by the Dev's.
I dont know what is causing the problems, but I know the end result. Last night was just the worst of the worst. It would take 5 minutes to move 10 meters, and that is not a joke. When you get word that a force of 25 is with in 500 meters of your vulnerable HQ, you kinda want to get there quick. Our PvP force would have easily been able to slow them down or straight send them packing, but funny thing is the same lag that didnt let us get there, stoped them from being able to destroy it, so it was all good.
As for big battles, we have had our share of 50-80 strong, and prior to a month ago they were not to laggy if you stayed out of the city. Now even outside the lag is just insane.
