Just wondering which gun to use to take down rancors fastest and easiest way. Dxr's? Probably not t21. Would an e-11 be better?

DXR6 is the best way to go, given the rancor's low acid resist in combination with AP2 from the dxr6.

I have good luck with conceal shot 2-3 times, peace, repeat. This can be done unbuffed and unarmored.

An acid rifle combined with either prone hs3 or conceal shot is definitely the way to go. Rifles can take down Rancors better than any other profession in the game (with the possible exception of Jedi, although they probably shouldn't count). Unbuffed, unarmoured, solo Rancor hunting... enjoy it while you can, it's not going to be an option post-CU!

(***EDIT: I should add, it helps a great deal to have a little Exploration - mask scent can help you avoid getting aggro'd by something else while you work over the Rancors and their lair, and helps ensure you don't draw more than one target at a time. ***)

You been hunting rancors for the last 14 days?? You must have some meat stacked up O_O Could we perhaps discuss some business? I need grind meat bad.

On top of that you can avoid getting damaged entirely by going prone (with your DX6-Rb) at 64m and using headshot3 on them until they have some 1/3 mind HP left - then stand up (making sure no rancors except the one you are targeting are within 55m to avoid social aggro) as this will make the rancor come to you. Then use headshot3 at your discretion to finish the beast off. I've been doing some odd 100 rancors every night the past 14 days for Scout xp and this method works like a charm for me

as a master cm and rifleman i have beenhunting rancors for some time.
dxr-6 works best, but the t 21 is oustnading as well.

personally i use the acid rifle and as a master i can use conceal shot to kill them with out ever being aggroed; as well as, using my macro showering mindshot 2, mindsot 1 then 3 head shot3's and then repeat same shots again followed by flushingshot and flurry shot with 3 more headshot 3's to finish it off. rancor will be naer death or below 50%health by time it close 64m.

so you know e-11's suck...laser rifles are better to use more damge output.

personally the rifles i suggest having a t-21, dxr-6, berserker and laser rifle. they are the best we can use and do the most damage based on element and armor piercing.

Depends on the type of rancor.

Regular rancors and rancor youths I use the T-21. The AP3 cancels out the energyresistand given my T-21 does more damage at base than my DXR6b would do vs. that acid vulnerability (no AP2)... well, the T-21 does quite well, thank you.

Bull Rancors, Ancient Bull Rancors, Nightsister Rancors, these are the rancors I use my DXR6b to kill. The fact that the acid resist is relatively weak along with the fact that the AP2 kicks in means I'm doing better with the DXR6b than I would be with the T-21.

In both cases, I generally kneel 60 - 64 meters away. The rancors catch on faster than if I were prone, but it means I can heal if the rancor suddenly warps to me, and kneeling does provide some concealment. Not as much as prone would, but it's not 'instant aggro' like standing up would be.

And I usually manage to kill even Ancient Bull rancors before they can hit me more than once or twice anyway.
