Why do the CDEF and DLT20 squeak? That noise is driving me nuts.

I will bring it up ^_^ not sure they will do anything about it though. (small issue vs game breaking issues tend to get squashed)

I heard it suggested some of the sound effects might be "placeholders"... would get a polish later. /shrug

If anyone remembers the sound quality of JTL during closed/open beta, you can draw a direct comparison.

They changed all those to the very iconiv movie sounds 1 day before it went live if I remember right, so I guess just voicing our concerns and waiting is all we can do.

Having said that, we dont know what the weapons we all use day to day Tusken ( we will be using it, kinetic damage and awarded at rifleman 3xxx), t21 dxr6b jawa etc sound like.

they may have toned down cdef sounds to give the higher level ones more impact, no doubt we shall see soon enough.

Yes, they really should keep the old sounds or come up with yet better ones! Those currently on TC are really bad, nothing like Star Wars at all. Same goes for the size of blaster weapon bolts. They seriously need to be toned down again...

It has caused me to turn my sound WAY down.
The carbines sound pretty cool though.

Maybe its just me, but I believe the weapon sprites are far worse than the sounds. We havent heard the sounds of any of the GOOD weapons yet so maybe those are vastly different...but have you seen the blaster sprite for the E-11's?? Its a giant blue and white lightning ball! Talk about EQ2 merging, now our weapons dont even shoot, they cast magic missles!

Pleeeeease tell me this isnt going to stay that way. I dont want my E-11 (I play Stormtrooper alot) looking like a big goofy fireworks dispenser everytime I squeeze the trigger.

As some people pointed out, current TC blaster sounds/bolts might just be placeholders for something yet to come...
who knows.
My main concern is with bowcasters: They need green bolts, not white/red ones
