Ok so there are nightsisters that have immunity against all common rifle dmg types. then i remembered some tusken rifle which had kinetic dmg. i remembered it being a crap rifle but then again its kinetic so would be usefull.

i got the weapon again now by doing a quest, stats on it is:

speed: 14.0

min dmg: 60

max dmg: 210

dmg type: kinetic

and i equip it and it says im not certified to use it and therefor dmg will be severly reduced. what's up with that?? I'm a master rifleman, do I need master marksman or what?

It's a trophy item. So there is no cert for it.

ok u can't use the valarian dagger which is also a quest reward since its generic item but,

u can get the lithanium riflein aquestand it works

u canget the gamorrean battle axeina themeparkand it works

u can get the rantok sword intheathemepark and it works

and i'm sure there are some other quest weapons

so the fact that it is a "trophy" item doesn't matter

The difference is that those weapons are quest rewards. The Tusken King Rifle is not. It's a quest item. You are suppose to give it to Huff to get the missions to earn the Krayt Skull.

Which you can of course keep instead of giving to Huff. But that is why it's a quest trophy as opposed to a quest reward. Kind of like the Grunda painting and some other items.

they should make it a generic item than, why make it able to equip but cannot use it

/whisper the Rantok is a quest item as well, thats why there are so many of those damn bunkers around Jaba's palace.

the answer lies in the certifications. for example, fencers are certified to use the Rantok.

but the tusken rifle is eitehr bugged or we are bugged, in that we dont have certification for it when we should. one of the 2.

We shouldn't be certified for it since we are not supposed to be able to use it. It would make more sense for it to be a statless object instead of what it is now. As-is, you can 'use' it, but will doalmost nodamage to your target. The only use it may have is for /concealshot-ing 100% Energy-resistant NightSisters until theirresists begin to decay (if that would even work).

the king rifle (or at least mine) does as much dmg as using unarmed

The dev's do not wanted us to have a kinetic damage weapon, end of story. We've let them know repeatedly that we want kinetic damage, that the tusken rifle shoots slugs and should be kinetic damage, that the tusken king rifle is kinetic damage but is non-certed....etc etc. We currently have been told "no" and that's it.
