By the way, talking about the weapons the professions get certed for in the master skillbox here.

Just out of curiosity, I decided to pull a bunch of master box weapons off of the froggie tonight.
Imagine my surprise when I noted that riflemen with the T21 actually seem to have one of the lowest DPS weapons in the game (while having about the highest special cost). The republic blaster, the stun baton, the powerhammer and one of the lances all have a higher (or marginally higher) DPS than the T21. Doesn't this seem... Odd? Especially since riflemen were supposed to be the ranged damage dealers, or "nukers"?
Oh well, maybe I'm just missing something here...

Perhaps the damage modifiers our specials add are absolutely insane?

Hmmm... If I'm not mistaken the weapons from the frogs are "cookie cutter" weapons, being a mish mash of average experimentation on all that can be experimented on. They are not experimented on for the most effective DPS/special cost output etc. and thus some weapons might seem a bit borked at present time - at least that is my theory.

Maybe the low/odd dps figures are because you are checking weapons u arent certified for, and the dps doesnt actually get calculated relative to ur skill?
If this is the case then it shoudl make weapon shopping a game in itself

all weapons are NOT finished... they had the nyax sword at 0200 brawler doign 600+ dmg...so wait until they release the term for char builder and get into the miscellaneous stuff like weapon dmg, specil multipliers, etc

Hmm, if they are cookie cutter weapons with "average experimentaton", I would still expect the DPS on a T21 to be much higher than that of a pistol.
As for the weapons on the frog not being compltetely "finished" as in we are not seeing the finished stats for the T21, then why did the developers tweak said stats quite recently? (A T21 pulled off of the frog day 1 has different stats from a new one).

nope
Listed dps on the weapons is [(max-min)/2 + Min]/speed

Quite possibly, but still... Seems a bit... odd. I mean, why even bother to list DPSif the DPS does not matter in the long run (since the "true" DPS would have to be calculated off of specials)?
On a somewhatrelated note, the master box carbine had a newbie-gun DPS.

Specials aren't profession specific anymore, so any other ranged profession can gain access to those same powerful specials.

Actually, in looking at some of the weapons...it seems like every weapon I looked at was 2.5spd. Those stats you see are most likely not final, and just kind of a base, to get an idea of which way they need to go.
