My guild, a Rebel PA on Chilastra, is currently seeking Riflemen (among other things). Specifically, we're seeking a Rifleman/Ranger for one of our teams, to act as the sniper on a commando/strike team that is being formed with faction base-bashing as a secondary consideration (ie. we're setting up the team so that it CAN take down faction bases, but that won't be its only job...if at all).
The guild is inspired by Stargate SG-1...we stole the uniforms, designations, and team structure, and twisted it into Star Wars. We're going to have several "Strategic Groups", each with different functions. SG-1 will be a Recon/Strike team. SG-2 will be a Combat/Strike team, as mentioned. We're also looking to have a heavier assault team (SG-3), similar to the USMC teams on SG-1. Riflemen will also be needed for this, but to act in an assault role, rather than a sniper role. A Rifleman/Squad Leader would be ideal for the OC (Officer Commanding) slot, but other Rifleman skill sets will be needed across the board.
To make things as easy as possible, players should be Rebel, and have Rebel Pilot if anything. We can work around Neutrals and Privateers, but its easier if we don't have to.
If you'd like more information, contact me over the forums, or /tell chilastra.orbren in game. We have a half-done website here, but its not finished, as I keep having to go back and update things before I get time to finish! Lol.
Think that's everything...thanks for your time.

I did.
Have you ever seen the Chilastra forums?
And besides...the right players might not be on Chilastra yet. It can't hurt to appeal to people on other servers, can it?

Quite honestly - the wrong forum is the wrong forum. This is for rifleman issues not for guild or server issues. Your topic is marginally connected to rifleman but is not about rifleman. Your post is better served in your galaxies forum as that is where the population you are recruiting from is. You also might want to try the GAT (general any topics) forum but it is not right for the rifleman forum.

and...
nobody knows what will happen between now and early may.
pick up a ranger/rifle now, and you might not have them later... or might have them in a wholly different form.
best bet is to ignore the forums entirely... stalk the type of player with the type of playstyle you want. look for them in space... on the ground... in cities and far afield. ask around with big meat buyers to see who delivers... and start looking for them ('delivers' doesn't have to mean the biggest stacks... it can mean the reliable 'every shift, a harvest' player).
I meet good folks ingame. with VERY few exceptions (almost exclusively correspondents and other paragons of the professions, who all play on stupid Live servers rather than TC-prime), the forums don't get me much more than data. the textual interface ingame is much more conducive to personal interaction than the forum 'post and wait and bite tongue' system.

Also please stay away from the Guild and Groups forum....

On my server forums, this message wouldn't get seen. The Chilastra forums aren't the sort of place you go to recruit people...you get random crud in your threads instead.
And also I'm not recruiting "from" the Chilastra community. I'm recruiting for it. You don't have to be on Chilastra to be in the guild, as long as you're willing to set up a character. If I recruit just on Chilastra, I miss out on all of the people on other servers who might be interested.
I'm trying to find Riflemen who might be interested in joining my guild. Surely, the Rifleman boards, where a lot of them hang out, is the logical place to look?
And GAT is quite definately the wrong forum - its a non-SWG forum. I'd get flamed within seconds if I posted there.
