Thread: Change in Style because of Patch ?

As i read (and hope it'll really work), with the next patch one of the biggest problem for novice Rifleman that try to level up will "disapear".
I'm talking about the AI of aggroing BAF (social) Creatures, where all friends attack you when you shoot at one of them, even when you're prone, take cover or concealshot.

Now as far as i know, every master says "first go 1-0-0-x, then go 1-3-0-x" for flurryshot2 (because of AoE).

ATM (and i think it wasn't so bad earlier when most people mastered rifleman) most creatures are BAF (i really hate to say thet i think it's about 90% for me, but i'm a novice and i could be wrong).

Now a question to all of you (and especially the master rifleman):
Wouldn't it be better now to go 1-1-1-x and then 1-1-3-x, because now ConcealShot works (better) and you even have a chance against high-ham-social-baf-creatures (my former and still nightmare-creatures) ?

Myself, i'm 1-0-1-0 atm, and i really wonder what will be the better/easier/faster way to get XPs and level up for getting master soon. I'm NOT using pets for tanking (many reasons, but i think it's not about describing this here now).

What do you think of it ?

Mind you, this is just my opinion...

You are in a good position with your skills, because you have flushing shot 1, which is a fine attack, and you have your first box of accuracy, which is what you need to max out first.

Look at it like this: The way I understad it, Conceal Shot will work fine right up till you miss, then the critter charges. You need to hit the critter, and for thiss you need to max out your Accuracy line.

Next, work on your concealment line up to Expert. This gives you bonuses to Take Cover (a prereq for Coneal Shot) and it alows you to sneak. This lets you move while in cover, and believe me when I tell you a run of failed Take Cover attempts can hurt you almost as badly as a warping critter. You also need to reposition yourself constantly to get the target into your gun's ideal range which means more opportunities for Take Cover trauma.

Once You hit this combo, you should be able to hunt the way you want and level the rest of your lines without much problem.

Hope this helps!

doesnt work that way.

there is no need to take cover to use conceal shot. cover is only nominally useful for NPC shooting back and even then i cant tell the difference. maybe at higher levels it will work better.

conceal shot will continue to work until you miss twice in a row or three times total. conceal shot is good if you dont care about time and enjoy seeing a target suffer. stay at optimal range and you will almost never miss at 0100. if you do miss, peace the target and then start firing again, doing this i have been able to miss up to three times total or twice consecutively before the creature comes after me. tested while at minimal range to increase misses.

I didn't like conceal whot while leveling up because it took AGES to get a single mob with it down.

Just as confirmation, yeah, Surpriseshot is obtained at 3 x x x, where as Concealshot is obtained at x 1 x x, and Sneak is obtained at x 3 x x. And Surpriseshot is the one that need to be done from under cover.

Concealshot can be done from under cover, but does not require it. Concealshotworks just as well if you are prone without being in cover or if you are standing or kneeling, except that the latter two stances increase your chance to miss or to be detected in other ways.Concealshot will not trigger an autoresponse attack from the target (and, soon, its friends either, yay) until you have missed twice.

Surpriseshot gets mixed reviews as far as concealment goes. At 2 3 2 2, I have not gotten to Surpriseshot yet, but I have seen posts, as here, saying that you will not be noticed until you miss once. I have seen others indicate that the fact that you are not noticed is only due to the fact that you are prone and you usually get to get off 2 or 3 free shots when you are prone anyway.

Oh oh A'rien's gunna be helpful again, probably for the last time so heres the dilly-o

best way and QUICKEST way to level rifle me is to.

Get your self a nice mid line pet, a mountain dewback is fine level 20 so you just need 1 or 2 CH boxes.

Then work your way up the riflemen line. Go Up the Counter sniping tree to the 3rd box for Flushing shot 2. This will give you a x4 damage area attack. Once you have this go to Danthmoir and pick up some 10k Giant Baz Nitch missions.

Send the dewback in first. Make him hit the lair. there will be 3 defenders so wait for all 3 to attack him, his attackign the lair will bring out anther 3 baz's. Wait for all 6 to attack him. Then at 60m target one of the Baz's and flushing shot 2 them, with a good laser rifle and a decent power up this should take 2-6 shots to kill them all.

Now heal the dewback.

Shoot the lair ONCE and peace. Then3 more will spawn. Send the dewback, FLushing shot 2..... blah blah blah.......

Now heal the dewback again let it hit the lair by it self in about 2 mins you'll get the last group of spawns hit um all with Flushing 2 and bam your done!

In about 5 mins of time you jsut got roughtly 30k experience. At 30k xp per mission you willlevel quickly.

Now since you have the 0-0-3-0 goup the sniping line to get better aim/accuracy. train forspeed when you can that will help.

Don't try to PvP till master cause you will getowned. lol then again if you do PvP get sniepr shot and steal other people's kills that's always fun!

ThereA'rien was helpful for a last time.

Don't expect me to post help again.
