Thread: Rifle or Pike?
Well i'm still a master doctor myself, i was grinding professions and Pike was the last one I got too because GRINDING SUCKS 
I stopped with Pike...and I thought hmm not a bad profession but I still want to try the Jedi Trials when the pub comes outs. But the urge to use a gun is just killing me...
So you'd say Rifle is pretty good, maybe even better along the lines then pike?
You said Pike is good for PvE.I don't think you will be missing out on your PvE at all as a rifleman can kill anything that isn't 100% resistant to it. There are only a few things that are.

It depends. Rifle is certainly much better with all player crafted weapons, but with some good looted pikes, I think Pikeman is way better. I've heard some of the most feared pvp'ers on some of the big servers are in fact doctor/pikeman. Now, this is because they possess godly pikes with huge damage or huge dots, but that is the strength of pikeman. You have a much better chance of looting a decent pike than finding some kind of good dot rifle, but then again, with rifle you don't need a looted weapon to be effective.
So if you are looking to become very good with much smaller costs, than rifleman is your ticket. If you want to become very good by spending a lot of time or money in getting a good set of pikes, pikeman is your ticket.
