Thread: Add closest enemy button

Right now I use the TAB button to cycle thru the enemies. The problem is that it frequently seems to cycle to the farthest enemies. I'd like to see them add in a closest enemy target button.

This would be especially helpful with NPC groups. Since they will aggro usually after one of their members is hit. It would make it much easier to switch targets to the charging melee guy (if he doesn't warp of course) so I can tag him before he gets to me.

Target yourself, then do TAB.

I have the click anywhere to un-target selected. So i just click on my screen then hit Tab again and it picks closest target.

How do you target mobs that are behind you? My tab only targets the mobs in the direction I am facing.

I've had this problem too for mobs that assist. Even if I untarget by clicking anything on the screen, when I hit tab it will still target the first guy I shot, and seems to cycle through the targets according to where they were originally, not where they are charging you. For example, there's a group of gurrcats, I go prone, shoot one, a couple of his buddies start charging, I untarget the original cat, hit Tab, but it still targets the original, at this point I am swearing and attempting to run or attempting to manually target the stupid charging cats, does selecting yourself fix this?

Anyone figure out what /combattarget does? I remember that was on the second toolbar pane when we first create our characters but I've never really been able to figure out exactly what it does. I've heard from a co-worker that there was already a command for targetting closest enemy but have yet to find it. Perhaps it's time to consult the manual again.

necro post.

This was my first post on the rifleman boards. *sigh* memories. I was a long time lurker, first time poster at the time, I remember I was nervous typing out the response.

Your first post? wow.

Didn't look like you got an answer in all that time, do you know about the /ui commands for this? I have a macro I bind to cnt-tab:

/ui action TargetSelf:/ui action CycleTargetOutward

I call it SelectClosest and like I said, bind it to cntrl-tab. You do have to face the target, however. If it does not work, you are selected.

Sweet. Finally after 9 months someone answers my dang question.
