Hi all,
Ok, I've been experimenting with MR now that I've had it a couple of days. Mainly been using headshots/mindshots on mokks/jantas.
Today, I went to take some more mokks/jantas and got killed and sent to the cloner twice in 90 minutes. I was not a happy camper!
Losing buffs n all.
I tried different tactics today...maybe the problem. First time I got killed I tried kiting. This has been the recent subject of a thread, I guess it means to run from the target to put distance between you and them. Well, I used strafeshot2 on jantas and they charged, I got up and ran when they got close. And, by the time only one was left I stopped running and he DB'd me...What did I do wrong?
Second time, I got attacked by mokks. I was using a macro that went: mindshot2/flushingshot1/headshot3/headshot3/headshot3...I chose one target to use it on. The whole bloody bunch charged me. And, promptly sent me to the cloner. Again, where did I stuff up? Does the flushingshot1 cause AoE? Didnt think it did? One possible reason, was that one mokk chased me on my bike when I got close, but I flew away and he gave up and went back. But, this doesnt mean he alerts everyone else right? I've never seen this level of AI before in the game...
How do you use strafeshot2 effectively? I sent in my BE pet a couple of times and got him to tank while I cleaned up. This made it pretty quick. But, if I dont use a pet, how should I use strafeshot2. Remember, I am NOT speed capped. Only maximum for MR. Cant afford speed tapes....

just target the mission lair thingy... spam strafe2 with a t21... start at one side, then run through the lair to the otherside 60m away... that should keep the npcs within your cone... keep your bike out too... the mission was to destroy the lair not kill the npc's
.... actully most of them should be about dead if you do this..

Ok, thanks. I see, start running from the first shot...that would make a bit more sense. I waited till they were almost upon me. I actually started at about 55m out at kneeling. My focus is usually about 1500+, I use musician buffs, brandy, ahrisa. My weapon is T21 dmg sliced for about 250-515 (cant remember exactly), and when I add my pups it becomes min-620 (again forget exact stats, but its pretty powerful).
How bout the flushing shot one? Anyone got any ideas here?
Cheers,

http://killyourpc.org/swg/swg_dps.php use that addy (i can't make a clicky, get an unauthorizedhtml thing)
i guess i was alway near the speed cap so i never noticed... the single pull abilty has always worked for me too if you wanna kill them one by one... drop a mind bleed on one, /peace and stay right at the edge of his range if you wanna practice kiting...
but get yourself a CL10 BE pet... they are still decent and have them attack the lair and pull the agro... then fire away with an AoE... if the pet can last 20 secs all the mokks will be dead...
something also to think about is a speed WPU, i never use any type on my weapons... so try messing with the numbers on the caluclator... it made decisions alot easier for me when i was doing pikeman...
the npcs are dumb too, thats where the running back and forth through the lair comes in... they go to where your were, rather than where you are... so after the initial few rounds move... when they get close is when the AoE doesn't work so well... thats another reason i say keep the lair targeted...
before you jump into the mokk missions try and perfect the kiting on something easier, like STs/reb npcs...
i learn things the hard way, it took many, many deaths to figure out how to do the endgames mob's solo... but they can be done...

First of all, is your focus over 1500? Second, what kind of weapon (damage range) are you using? Using strafe2, you should be able to take down all of the jantas in under 10 shots, considering that most likely all ofyour strafes won't hit all of them every time. I wouldn't start prone, as it sounds that you are. Just be standing about 40 to 45 meters (to make sure they're all in range) and start running from the very first shot. Even when they do catch you (unless you haveenough terrain negotiation), they'll be a shot or two from dead.

Well I think I almost have an answer thats right for you.
On a 30k Janta Mission I will target their lair and get off my bike about 75m from target. I have a macro on a quick key that 1st tragets me and cycles outward to the closesr target.
I hit SS2 once and they aggro - I then use myquick key to select a target and spam SS2 whilst running backwards. I am an RM/CM so I have good terrainfrom CM.From time to time as my target dies I need to tap to another. Also if I get too far away the whole thing respawns so at some stage Irun diagonal right ordiag left then straight forward to keep me in range of their lair.
Looting is a pain because there are bodies all over. I sometimes upset other beasts during the kite.
Using this method I can do one janta lair in3 minutes with a fair wind.3 buffs for 1.5 million before I got bored and went off to find some rancours. I use a T21 on Mokk and a DX on janta - I am 90 +4AA on speed.
Occasionally I am on my bum dizzy from these guys but no clone visits yet. Even with terrain of 50plus the mokks will catch you for a posture down dizzy something or other so wear good kinetic.
I could kill em all this way just by kiteing backwards but the lair would respawn. Some peeps have said in this place that jantas and mokk mobs can be dealt with SS2 before they finish their first charge (65m). On the 30k at least I have rarely found this to be true but SS2 certainly beats HS3 for peeps who can kite.
The macro is somethinglike - clearcombatqueue; targetself; cycletargetoutward;
You will need to check these for I do not have the exact one with me. Working properly it should traget the closest hostine to you (includes lair).
