Hello, I found a +5 Ranged Defnse ring and was wondering how much of a difference +5 really makes. Like is there a damage calculater that can acutally show me the differnce

It's pretty simple really. Most skill mods cap at +125 and typically you won't notice a major difference until you're in the 90's or so. That +5 ring of yours is probably worth equipping for the heck of it, but it's not actually valuable.

correct me if i'm wrong, but the cap from trained skillboxes is +125. you can get up to an extra +25 from clothing/armor attachments and BE clothing.
being grouped with a squad leader will also boost your ranged/melee defenses past the normal +125 cap(+30 group ranged and melee def at MSL). with a master SL + maxed attachments plus a template with 125 can get your effective ranged or melee to 180(i think).
anyway, +5 will make a difference, but only a first order linear improvement.

the ackuan rings are worth about 300-700k depends on server, timing and who is buying.
u can equip two of them, giveng yourself a+10 ranged defence.
itis excelent for many prof that are far from125 ranged def, like rifleman.

All other state defences Cap at 150, if you get 150 you are invulnerable to that stats NO 1 COULDKD ME ONTC-AHAZI!

Um... all defenses cap at 125 not just ranged and melee. You can add +25 with attachs to get to 150 but anything above it is a waste.

Im pretty sure im right lol, but I could be wrong, it is definat that if you get 150 you cant be affected...or effected

Odd. I would have sworn that the calculator did not recognize any value above 125, without a CoB in effect, or SL bonuses. Whether through skill tapes or not. 125 was the stated hard cap.
On states. There is always a 1 in 10 chance to get hit with a state. This does not mean that you will get KD'd after 10 hits, just that on each of those hits, there was a 10% chance that it would stick. From this, I had always thought the cap on state defenses to be 90. If there is always a 10% chance to get hit with it, after +90 def to a given state, the rest does nothing, right?
As far as the ring goes, equip the thing, and hope to get another. +5 def for free is always cool. Especially when it doesn't degrade like armor attachments eventually will. At the least, it's the same as an FS box would grant, and every little bit helps.

Aukaun Rings are DEFINTLY worth it, especialy since rifleman lack good defense in the first place. As for the defense thing... Melee and ranged both cap at 125, state defense always caps at 90 so u will ALWAYS have a 1/10 chance of getting affected. But screw state defenses I think everyone is starting to realize the potential of doc

I'm at +92, and when I drank Elanda Pischu Thundercloud (or whatever the drink is) I was at like... 110, 114 or something - maybe 1 in 15 of the shots fired at me by an NPC hit me. It was awesome.
