Why don't we write down the specifics of real life and starwars canon, what happens when we use these weaponry, and covert them into game mechanics?.

Please feel free to add to the list

we can analyse the list later, and try to balance out ranged combat.

General

(smaller sized weaponry will enable you to create alower profile)

(faster shooting or harder shootingweaponry will spend your ammunition faster)

Pistols

1. A pistol is lighter then a carbine or rifle

- one can draw a pistol quicker

- one can aim and fire with less encumbrance from close up, due toweaker recoil effects

- one can run faster with a pistol, due to its weight andsize for griping

- one can shoot a pistol more accuratly on the run, due to low encumbrance

2. A pistol is smaller then a carbine or rifle

- one can conceal a pistol more easily then a carbine or rifle

- the missing stocks or missing broader surfaces to support its weight, for shooting from prone position

Carbines

1. Carbines are lightweight semi-/automatic weaponry

- one can fire more shots to a target, increasing it's hit chances, but lowering overal hit ratio

-

2. Carbines are larger and are used two handedly

- Better grip and use of stocks increases accuracy for longer distances

-

3.

Rifles

1. Sniper rifles are bigger, single shot weapons

- one can fire a sniper rifle with tremendous accuracy over longer distances

- one has major difficulty aiming accuractly close up, due to weight/lack of easy close range scoping

- one can fire a sniper rifle with tremendous damage, but at slower rates.

2. T21 is a large bulkyautomatic weapon

- it slows you down when moving

- it's inaccurate for close range, but its high rate of fire can score hits or execute suppresion manouvres

- it's a powerfull fast weapon, but it expends ammunition very quickly without a powersupply (stormtrooper backpack)

3. ...

I do not understand, what exactly is the problem with Ranged Combat in your opinion? I have been hunting Ranged ever since the CU got implemented and allong with my friends, who are pistoleers and Carabineers, we are having a blast ever since.

I really don't get what all the fuss is about.

Can you be more specific?

The fuss is that every other combat class out there seems to think that rifleman is overpowered.

Plus due to the stronger nature of rifles and its range, other weaponry can become obsolete, or so most of em think. In any case, do you guys have any more specifics to add here?
