Thread: HLR vs. ALR.... your thoughts?

Hello all, I'm both a Master BH and a Master Rifleman and I havea dilemma... I have a set of really good tissues to use but am unsure which rifle to go with. I will be conducting some tests of my own of base versions of each of these, but would greatly appreciate any comparative studies/info you can provide.
I'll post my own findings later tonight or tomorrow.

Why would you recommend the T over the ALR? Other than looks lol From comparing those crafted by some of my server's best, it appears the only real difference betwen the two is a better accuracy mod on the ALR.
Absolutely no reason to make a T21 anymore other than looks. It requires much more rare resources which are difficult to get in high quality ultimately making it more difficult to get near the caps. Also you can not use a scope on a T21 but you can on a laser rifle making it logically the better choice, not to mention it uses pretty generic resources making it easy to get high quality resources for it.
Now for your original question. If you have some very good tissues I would suggest waiting until a WS can get their hands on the schem/barrels for a trandoshan rifle. They are now dropping so I don't imagine it will be long, and are basically identical to a laser rifle for stats, but it would look much better, and the trando rifle will be alot more rare since it requires a looted schem and components. Just my thoughts for something a little different. Resource requirements for the trando rifle are the same as for the laser rifle and so far it would appear that the caps are in the same places as the laser rifle. Anyways if I had some high end tissues that's what I would do with them at the moment being a rifleman/bh myself.

That is exactly the reason I WOULDNT put tissues in an ALR.
You know why? because after min range on snipershot, the next logical step in reducing the effect of rifles in PvP is to nerf the ALR that is , as you say, as good as a master rifle cert weapon without the need for the skillbox.

Thanks for the input, Hostage. I can see where the ideal among T's, ALR, and the Trando would be, and agree with your logic on those. However, my main concern on comparing the HLR is how the elemental damage works in. How does it affect specials? It seems that now that elemental damage is actually (supposedly) working as intended, that just how it fits in to actual combat damage figures will impact weapon selection for vairied profs.
