Im new to the rifleman profession, looking for some tips. I cashed in my respec and turned 0043 BH into 4030 rifleman, and had enough rifle points and combat xp from marksman accuired to imediatly train up to 4243, combined with 4404 marksman, master scout and master ranger put me at lev 75. Went to Lok and grabed some gurk missions. This is how it went with just about every kill. Using a 800+dammage lazer rifle I take cover at 65m. I get about 3 conceal shots off before im detected every time. after that It then ends up being a point blank shootout.I endup taking him down but my health is all but gone. so after every one i kill, I have to sit and wait. kill, sit and wait, kill, sit, wait. Got kinda old! I played around with different methods, like getting off 2conceal shots, then a improved sniper shot,( dont have advanced sniper shot yet) that seemed to work the best but it still ended the same way...pointblank shootout, wait and heal. Tryed combining skill to. Switching to pistols at close range, but since i droped master marksman, pistols barely give a scratch. Ranger traps dident help either, none of them work anymore. Im sure someone is gonna say "group, get friends". I do when i have time and my friends are online, but that is just not possible every time i want to go hunting. So can I get a few tips? is there a better way than what im doing? Does cover get better the closer i get to master? Also, can someone tell me what weapons are avalible for rifleman? It used to tell you in the skill tree boxes but not anymore.

Thanks!

tip 1: Paragraphs

tip 2: find a group

Sorry I don't have tips for soloing, but that is really a thing of the past, at least for grinding. if you don't have doc or cm 4000 it takes ages to regen or costs loads of stims just to get you healed. way better to find a group in mo or wherever and do some grinding that way

if you REALLY want to solo get either cm or doc 4000, use action reg food and soices, low sac weapons etc

May you always live as long as you want but never want as long as you live.
And don't take your life too serious (SPOILER!); you won't get out of it alive!!!

The only "upgrade" Cover gets is that one of the Rifleman boxes lets you move around whilst remaining under cover. Can't remember which.

Try and find some reasonably priced food that adds to Health or Health Regen, if you're not having trouble with action costs, or Action if you are. Spice can also help here.

Soloing is just all around a pretty slow way to advance, now. You can do it, but as you've discovered, it can take a while to kill things, especially when you don't have your professions best attack/s.
I'd suggest trying to hunt slightly lower level random spawns, if you can't get in a group. You should find them easier to kill, they'll still give you XP and you might make more progress... if you can find any areas with appropriate level spawns. :-/
I was trying to level a Wookiee through Brawler to TKA (and from Scout to CH) earlier today and found it was just so much faster to slaughter things quite a few levels below me. I was killing 3 or 4 things in the time it took me to kill one of it's bigger brothers, and getting more than double the XP. And it only got worse as I advanced.

It's a different story in groups - you have people watching your back, healing or grabbing aggro off you, etc. The game is heading towards a decent balance in that regard...

What level would I need to go for? i tryed killing some lower level stuff and only get 1 point rifle xp per kill. I havent grinded a profession in quite some time,(before CU), I dont understand this new system fully.

*PROBABLY* 70 or higher, if you're level 75, but I'm not sure. My wookiee is level 14 and is getting more than 1xp per kill on level 5 creatures... But it's not oodles of XP.
The idea is to go for something you can kill relatively easily, but that still grants more than 1xp per kill. It's boring as hell, but you'll get there in the end.

To get xp go after creatures with a combat level equal to your combat level.

With your Ranger skills use the P-dart trap. Use cover, get in a couple of conceal shots. Then throw the Pdart and hit it with a knee cap shot. This will just about freeze the animal in its tracks. Then you can back off a bit to stop from taking any damage and kill it from a distance.
