Thread: High End PvE Template

Hi - I know there are countless threads on templates, but I just wanted to discuss a high end PvE template.

I must stress that I really am not much into PvP, and any PvP I do would not be with this character. This template is either to be a major ranged damage dealer or for soloing.

I am looking at Master Rifles, Master BH and Pistols 4xx4. I am also looking at the ranged accuracy enhanced boxes as well. This effectively uses up all of my points.

I did look at taking some medic / healing, but as I intend to kite / keep away from mobs, I though I should drop this in favour of getting the likes of stopping shots / general ranged speed. If I do need to heal, I shall use Ruby and Stim D's - Burst Run shall also be my friend

What I would like to know is if I am overlooking anything - is there a better / more effective PvE template? I was Master Doc / Master TK, but this just does not do enough damage, despite the fact that you can stay alive quite a while - it gets boring

Cheers,

Rince

Bacta Shotwith Healing efficiency clothes and food expand your solo capacity a LONG way compared to what you can do with just Ruby and Stim Ds. You won't effectively kite everything and high end ranged fighting mobs will tear you down quicker than Ruby and Stims can keep up (BH mark bosses, DWB and Corvette mobs, Nightsisters, krayts). Nov. Medic and 0003 Pistols adds more to Rifle/BH than 4004 Pistol IMO.

If you are determined not to have Medic and its 15pt. cost then I'd recommend MBH/MP Rifle 4004 as it gives you great general mods, better selection of specials overall, all the Rifle specific Speed and Accuracy Rifleman has to offer, as well as the ability to draw a pistol when things close distance or your Action is scraping bottom. Or one of the all Marksman variants Master Marksman, Master Rifle, Master Pistol or Carbineer with the rest going into the other or put into medic.

Thanks for the reply

I have not tried any profession without medic or doc since CU, so was not aware just how much it is needed.

So if I was to look at Master Rifles, Master BH, Pistols xxx3 and Novice Medic, then the feeling is that this will help keep me alive longer?

Or would I be better looking at Master Rifles, Master BH and CM 4000 ? How much will I need the stopping shot with Pistols xxx3 ? Is it considered a requirement for the higher end mobs ?

TIA,

What do you think about Master Carbineer, Master Bounty Hunter, Pistol 0003 and some medic?

Basic post-CU Ranged PvE templating dictates that you pick your favorite weapon type between Rifles, Pistols, Carbines, and Heavy weapons. Add to that (unless already included) a Root shot, a secondary mastery for CL80 status with a wider variety of specials (most choose BH as it has the best Ranged mods, specials, prereq, and now missions), and then putas much as you can into healing leaving a little bit for whatever Force Sensitive stuff you desire.

Are there templates not involving the above that are viable in PvE? Sure there are. But CL80, a root, and some healing generallly seem to be all that you need to survive adequately in the post-CU world. Don't be afraid to break the mold to find what works for you, but always keep in mind what most others are finding works for them.

I like MR, MPistols Carbs 0440

Absolutely no defense, but very high speed and accuracy. Paired with Ruby Biel and decent STIM's I can pretty much solo anything.

Has 2 snares, root, knockdown, couple of states. and hits very hard.

So whats better for Kryat solo template MBH?MRM pistol4xx4 or CM4xxx???

if you want to solo effectively, go melee, the DPS of a swordsman with armor break is at least double the highest attainable with Rifleman, plus you get better defense, plus you have plenty of points to spend on healing since you won't be kiting.

I was melee, but I got bored with it. And having swung hammers around in the past, I don't wish to do it again

Just after input about going the CM 4000 route or Pistols xxx3 and some medic.

The feeling seems to be be, get some healing as you will last longer. However, I am unsure just howimportant the stopping shot is at Pisols xxx3. Would this allow you to kite and not get hit? Would the basic novice Medic skills be enough to help this? Perhaps Medic 2xxx or x2xx along with Ruby & Stim D's.

I have no doubt that if I took CM 4xxx, that I would be able to outheal a Krayt - not so sure of the lower level medic skills - will need feedback on this
