I'm currently a novice marksman on the Chilastra server. I have a tusken, a DL20a, and a few thousand credits in my pocket. Pretty soon I'll have expert rifle skills. So after the DL20a, what is the next rifle I should buy?

I am Master Marksman and have a Spraystick and a Laser rifle. I haven't read the forums, but I think the Spraystick is supposed to be better. However, I bought a top-of-the-line Laser rifle from a GOOD vendor and prefer to use it instead. You'll see a BIG step up from the DLT20.

I may have overpaid, but my top-notch Laser rifle cost me 15K. I dont remember how much the Spraystick cost. Keep in mind that with that weapon, you can recoup your money fairly quickly.

I would like to see some discussion here about the differences between Spraystick and Laser rifle (backed up with data, please ... not stuff like "My laser rifle kicks a**")

Economies on different servers will vary, of course, but 15k wouldn't be unreasonable on Corbantis, where I play. I got a very good laser rifle (19-345, 6.3) for 13,500, but I've commonly seen prices ranging from 10k to 20k. I don't have a spraystick yet (resources not around for us, I think), but I'm looking forward to trying out when they're available. If that happens any time soon, I'll post some results.

Different servers have different resources so while some can make the T-21 others cannot.

The answer? Carry a few rifles hotkeyed for different purposes. Use a Laser Rifle to bleed a tough target. I use a DLT20a as my main headshot rifle. I get constant 700s every shot..of course I have pets that tank so time is not a factor for me.

A Spraystick for groups is good...no need to use specials, just fire away. The SG82 has cold damage, and those witches on Dathomar are vulnerable to cold.

The E11 can be both fast and low HAM but might take a while to find one. A well made DLT20a can do wonders.

Tusken Rifle is Kinetic energy and the Jawa Rifle is some sort of Ion energy. Take these into effect when PvPing. But, most will use a Laser Rifle in "solo" PvP and a spray stick in big battles.

Honestly, I would stick with the DLT20a if you can find a nice one. They are not that expensive and are not bugged like other weapons. When your sever starts getting T-21s I would hold off buying one as they will not be the best. Patience has its rewards.

Spraysticks are so much fun to use, We have some on the Radiant server, the damage is mediocre (mine is 10-121) but the beauty is in the speed (which mine has 1.9 speed), so you can mash out head shots like no other, but then again its expessive as hell on your HAM bars, also the prefered range on that weapon is 30 meters I think, Medium ranged rifle. Fun stuff though, also shoots a green lasers.

Some it up: a fast, medium ranged, rifle with a green shot, excellent for quickly killing weaker creatures or if your in a group, because of the fast fire rate you can dish out some major damage for some good rifle XP, however results varies as with everything else.

I'm at about the same spot as you, Bounty1989. I was carrying my DL20a (70-117 6.3) around with me and thought I was doing pretty decent... Then I visited the vendor of the most popular weaponsmith on my server (Chilastra server - Weaponsmith is Glock - shop located on Tatooinesouth east ofMos Espa - He had a bunch of T21's a couple days ago but I didn't have the funds) and bought a Laser Rifle there for 20k (20-331 6.5) and started blasting away with that. I was just about giggling in glee.

I'm able to take out yellows in 2 shots now and destroy missions are a cinch - I can take out lairs in 1 overcharged shot (best hit was for around 1130). Because I can take out bigger game, my experience point boost has been significant.

If you can find one of these on your server, I suggest plunking down the credits - you'll earn them back in short order by completing missions even quicker.

Could you hook us up with decent player crafted Jawa Ion Rifle stats? Im seriously considering switching one because:

1. DLT20a's can take 4+ shots against a person w a helmet
2. Laser rifles do crappy min damage and eat your mind
3. Spraysticks eat your mind
4. T-21's suck until they fix AR=0 bug.

Jawa Ion Rifles seem like a good assault rifle for PvP. Good damage, good speed, and able to pass through armor.

I have a DLT20A rifle that I use most of the time. It's 112-180 5.1spd and I do between 400 and 700 with HS2. I also have a Spraystick that I use to mass kill blues or in groups. I haven't put down the cash for the Laser yet, I'd debating on trying it out or waiting on a nice E11 or a T21.
