Ok just a minor question here. most likly its been asked befor but hey. I am now a master rifleman/Masterswordman and I just can't seem to find a balance between rifleman/swordman. so for those of you that have the same combo what ham set ups do you use? rightn ow i have a pretty basic rifleman set up so. but swordman moves eat so much action and health.

just wondering what the rest of you use hehe. getting buffs all the time can get costly so

Probably not the best set up, but then again I always have dancer/musician/doc buffs. My char is 400's to all health and action, Max Mind, and then around 1000 or so Focus and Willpower. With the buffs I get, it barely uses any health or action. Like I said, I doubt it is the best set up, but it seems to work ok for me.

I consider myself, for PvP purposes, a Rifleman with Swordsman as a backup; although, as a rule, I will tend to fight more as a Swordsman in PvE.

Therefore, I have my stats weighted towards rifleman, but in order to be able to use my 2H weapons, I do have some stats migrated to Health and Action. My basic setup is 700/500/400 on Health and Action and 800/800/600 on Mind. I then have Brandy and Canapes for food mind buffs and Pixie for if I need a quick boost to health and action. I also have muon available if I need it and I have not needed to pop the Pixie.

But, frankly, I do not do anything significant without Doctor buffs (and entertainer buffs, if I can get them). Therefore, these stats serve me well.

Im a rifleman swordsman and in my opinion its the best combo for pve.U dont have to worry much about the ham for sword if u use ur rifle right for example on yavin4.If i see an angler lairi go prone take cover pop2 brandy(if your to full one). Then i headshot3 till one of the anglers or giant comes i usualy get in 4 headshots. When they close pull out the hammer and headhit2 takes maby 2 hits equaling maby 230 ham tops.Rinse and repeat. So realy with that combo just worry about mind.

max your mind, and max focus and willpower, all other stats can be buffed, just that you will now be unable to do anything without buffs

I feel you on the buff thing and the HAM cost. I don't mind spending up to 12k for buffs, I just hate going to coronet to get them. I'm a Master Rifleman, TKM, and 4004 Pikeman and I go out all the time unbuffed. I don't think you want to go as crazy as I did, but these are my stats.

650 400 400 health

650 400 400 action

1100 800 600 mind

With my Full Ubese and composite helmet my health and action secondary stats go down to 14 and all my specials cost over 200 Health and Action so basically I don't use specials . I think this mainly works for me because of my tkm skills though. I can powerboost up to 1100 health and action, heal my wounds after battles so my secondaries don't go below 0 and meditate off poisons and diseases.

This probably won't be much help to you unless you pick up the meditation line of TKA and get some novice medic skills, but for what its worth it is doable. Just don't expect to be the badass you normally are without buffs and foods. Every profession relies on buffs these days in order to spam specials so the only real answer is to not use specials.

For those of us that don't buff, should we follow the same style of HAM setup, or would we need to modify it significantly?

I never did the swordsman profession and I don't kow the specials they have, just that they target the mind like rifleman does. But as a master rifleman, if you are swordsman just for that fact, it would kind of be a waste. The Master rifleman's natural +160 rifle acuraccy let's me still hit a target at point blank with a -50 modifier. That's just what I've observed from my end of the scope.
