Ok, What's the best rifle to use over all in PVP, I see the damage that a Laser Rifle can do if its sliced (500+) But the T21 has heavy armor piercing but when sliced it doesn't have the damage output of the Laser Rifles... So over all whats the best rifle to take into battle against another player.

I'm currently going for this build..

Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman/Fencer 4/4/4/0... Will I effectively hold my own in PVP against the other builds IE Rifleman/CM and TKA builds?

I still have a long way to go but before I get to the master levels I'd like to know if I'll have the abilities to kill some folks or just get killed.

Thanks everyone.

If the opponent has armour on then a Jawa, if not a T21.

The Jawa does stun damage, which is the one weakness for composite. Its also AP1.

a really good damage sliced laser vs a really good damage sliced t21 (on my server) are pretty equal. i have a t21 with max dmg of 490 and a laser rifle with max dmg over 500 (i dont remember exactly, just got it). when i did some comparison calculations when i got the laser i found that without a p-up the t21 would out damage the laser, but if a 30% max damage powerup were slapped on both, the laser rifle's damage would peak out just a little higher.

The last comment on page 2 gives the best explanation.)

This link does need a bit of updating because, in PVP, most folks now days have stun layered armor, which means that a regular, decent jawa becomes a pea shooter. My take - a T21 is usually your best bet, especially if you have decent damage-sliced weapon. If you have a krayt jawa with a good damage slice, it may outperform your T21 against stun-layered armor, but you will need to check your combat spam and see what performs better. The reason a T21 is your best PVP weapon is because it has AP3 and it has a high minimum damage. It is very difficult for my krayt jawa, speed sliced at 375 maxto keep up with my T21 at 550 if my opponent has even a light stun layer of 7%. I use no laser rifles, even my 34% 600+ damage sliced.

A T21 and Jawa is all you need.

A good T21 is doing to destroy a good Laser any day of the week.

A good Jawa Ion rifle is all you need for PvP. T21 is your huntin' gun.

With Damage Mitigation, the most important thing is not max damage, but rather minimum damage. To this end, a T21 will almost always outperform a Laser Rifle in PvP, given the fact that the T21 generally has 100 more minimum damage than the Laser. Against an opponent without Ranged Mitigation, yes, I would blast them with that laser rifle until you are blue in the face. The rate of fire, assuming you don't fire strafe2 from a T21 at cap, is higher for the laser rifle and thus makes for more damage against unarmored, unmitigated foes.

Against armored opponents, from experience and counterintuitive to what the current armor system dictates, the Jawa is the weapon of choice. It really does cut into the armor well and makes people drop very quickly.

I liked to piss people of when I PvP'd so I used another gun...

An E11

Before you fall out of your chair laughing, bear in mind this particular E11 was experimented for accuracy, and also powered up for accuracy. Ideal accuracy was +169 @ 50m powered up. Granted there are disruptor rifles that are very close to if not higher than this, but my E11 cost me I think 14k and didn't require loot drops to make.

Just sit in the back of your pack and spam Flushing 2 and Flurry 2 over and over again, this ensures the entire opposing force is now stunned and dizzied within the first 4-6 seconds of combat.

This gun hit stackers like they were novice entertainers back before stacking was capped.

Stunning and dizzying the entire opposing force was doubly good. The stun turned thier defenses to crap so now everybody in your group, even those with crap guns/accuracy can now hit them much easier. And the dizzy all the KD professions love. Our dizzy seems to last longer than most anybody elses and its also the only state affect on that attack, so its alway a dizzy that hits.

Also make friends with a carbineer. Between your stun/dizzy and thier ranged KD the opposing force could end up spending a lot of time on the ground, esp if you can route them through a narrow opening.

Other than that tho, Jawa and T21 are your best bets. Disruptor can be good too if its a high accuracy version (higher damage than the E11)

Awesome thanks everyone for their in put... looks to mean the T20 is the best bet then. Doh and I just spend 30k on a Sliced Laser Rifle. Overall I'm planning to be a Master Rifleman/ Master Surgeon/ Trickshot. and hopefully I'll hold my own. With the Trickshot hopefully The Stun/Knockdowns won't be as bad.

if your laser rifle has a min dmg over 100 and its max damage is higher than the t21's its possible to do more damage withit even after mitigation. mitigation isnt some magic thing that always makes higher min damage weapons better, it only cuts the damage range by the 20, 40, or 60 percent.
