Well it depends on what you want to kill and what its resistances are. For instance a dxr-b using acid can lay waste to rancors much easier then a t-21, which uses energy. The rifle given by Victor (cannot recall its name) can destroy NS with kenetic so it depends on the mob. However I usually prefer a dxr-b as my default rifle.

My personal favorite is the T21. Mostly because they're fairly common. The DXR6 is really nice, but they cost maybe 3 times as much (from what I've seen). So I bought a handful of T21 and had them all sliced. In the beginning,I used the fast ones with speed powerups since I was so wicked slow. As my speed mod increased, I started using damage powerups instead, or the damage sliced rifles with speed powerups.

The damage calculator below is very handy for figuring out which weapon will work best with your tactics. The big shots before master are Flushing2, Headshot3, and Concealshot.

Spd Sliced, Spd Power Up on T21... the 40% wound, the better average damage make it 100x better than a Laser rifle...

BUT!!! CONSIDER YOUR TARGET...

Spd Sliced, dmg Power Up DXR6 is a great weapon against rancor, you get a brawler or CH buddy, go mow down these 5 at a time in 30 seconds... you get my drift?

The City Quest Rifle is no longer kinetic, so killing NS is out the window... just remember to always EXAMINE...

Remember T21 is your best energy weapon b/c of its average damage and its Armor Piercing...

Acid Rifle is your only good hunting rifle that ISN'T ENERGY, the SG82 and Jawa SUCK for lvl'ing...

I always have ppl do rancor with a leveling CH, they love hte combo of getting MAX CH exp and amazing rifle exp at one time...

wondering why there are so many recommendations for t21 without considering the target... even so, I'd suggest a laser rifle. its faster, requires less ham, and does more dmg. yes, a t21 is heavy armor and a laser is medium. if youre just shooting quenkers and huurtons, you dont need heavy piercing. an average t21 on my server is 7.8 390max dmg unsliced... lasers are 6.0 440max dmg. the math is pretty simple.
