Thread: Targeting problems since publish 8

Don't know if this is me or what but thought I would ask, anyway, since publish 8 I have been having problems targeting, It seems my character wants to just target whatever when doing strafe2 on multiple targets. Escpecially noticable if I hit the strafe2 too many times and the commands stack to high, today I was attacking a gaping spider lair and tried to target the lair and kill it, I did good for about 30% of damage on the lair, then all of a sudden my gun points off at some spider that was running away, it was out range and I could not target the lair again. It showed on the screen I was trageted, It even showed in the queue I was doing damage but I really wasn't. When I went to 3rd person mode, my rifle was pointed off at the running away spider, I could not target anything else at all until I ran after the spider and killed it. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes..I had same problem doing Mokk and Janta missions on Dant. Target lair, strafe2, then no longer hitting lair even when in target window and couldn't retarget. Auto targeted on a mokk running out of range...I had to peace, clear, then try and retarget lair.

I've been having the same problem. Only way to get around it is clear your combat queue and peace then use the /attack command again on the lair (either double-click or radial or whatever)

I think this problem has been around for awhile. I've noticed it for many months while doing Piket missions.

I would target the lair and use StrafeShot2. Then it would remove my queued attacks after a bit. Need to do some testing but I think it has to do either with the lair spawning and it kicks off the targeting, or when you get attacked, and hit, while having the lair targeted.

it worked fine until publish 8, I've never seen this happen before now, and now it happens almost every time. The worst was when I was fighting an elder with strafe2, along with another rifleman, then a spider attacked me and I fired at it real quick to get it away using strafe2, and it managed to run out of range before I could kill it. Then my gun stayed targeted on it and I could no longer fight the elder, no matter what I did. I had to break off and chase the spider down and then come back, while my buddy got beat up.

There is definately a bug with the SS2. And if it's a cone problem, it needs to be fixed. Hopefully the devs are aware of it. If not I'll be posting alot more.

It does exactly as you stated. SS2 will cause you to switch from your current target and fire at one chosen what seems to be at random (course it's one that was hit within the cone from start).

Strange, it was piket lairs that I noticed it with too. Doubt if it's related to mob-type though
