Thread: Flurry shot + startle shot when standing =KD?
Haven't used startle shot in ages, but not from what I remember. Flurry + Suppression Fire = Flopping like a fish, but not a true dizzy kd. Flurry dizzies, supression fire forces a posture down. So, they guy ends up kneeling and as soon as he stands up to try to attack again, he falls over.
Startle shotgives anattack bonus, but doesn't have a state change, or have I forgotten?

Dizzy affects only voluntary upwards state changes. Dizzy plusa forced up will not KD.
A good trick against ranged NPC's is to hit them with Flurry till they get dizzy. Then get up and run away past 64 meters. They'll try to chase you and fall down.
Ah, that's right. So, a combo of Flurry, then suppression to force them to a knee and running out of range would work or you could force the flop by hitting your startle shot (posture up). Seems a little unreasonable, but if you're using a really nice range modded gun against difficult human NPC's it could be a viable tactic.

even if the person is standing and not in a lower postition will this still kd them if their dizzy?
Startleshot and Flushingshot both have posture up changes. Thus, I assume you are asking this because you have noticed that if you are dizzy, fall down, hit /stand and actually get up without falling back down, then hit /stand again, you may fall down even though you are alreadystanding. So if they are standing, and I force a posture change up, it would be reasonable to expect the same thing could occur if they are dizzy. However, as other people have noted, only a voluntary posture changehas a chance tocause a KD while dizzy. Thus, Startleshot and Flushingshot have no mechanism for causing a KD from dizzy unelss the target is in a lower posture.
That is, the same principle will apply as with SuppressionFire. Suppresionfire is a posture down change. If you dizzy them then force them to kneel (or to go prone if they are already kneeling) the tendency is to either want to get up to start running or to go back to the preferred posture before the forced change. So there is a good chance they will do a voluntary posture change (go to kneeling if forced to prone or to standing if forced to kneel) if you hit them with SuppressionFire. With a volunary posture change like that, there is then a chance they will fall down if Dizzy.
However, when you hit them with Startleshot or Flushingshot and they are already standing, nothing actually happens to them for them to counter by a voluntary posture change. Therefore, the there is no mechanism for these shots to create a KD if the target is standing anymore than SuppressionFire can make them want to get up if they are already prone.
Odite,
It is my understanding that if the movement up is forced, the dizzy will not KD. The only way to make them fall is to let them attempt to go up on their own. If you forced them to a knee, and they stay on a knee, there is no KD when you force them up.
