Thread: Will I be a strong Rifleman with this template?

OK Here is the template I have planned to eventually have.

Master Rifleman

Master CH

Novice Medic

Scout 4/0/4/0

Marksman 4/4/3/4

I know by giving up Master marksmanship I will loose the Master bonuses for rifle of +10 Rifle Accuracy and+5 Rifle Speed.

The big question is..... Should I sacrifice in CH to maintain Master Marksmanship to compliment Master Rifle?

There is no other place I can give anything up enough to get the 11 skill points I would need to keep Master Marksmanship.

If I gave up enough CH Skill to make up the 11 Skill points I would drop from controlling 70 Creature levels to something like 48 creature levels. It would mean I would have to give up an entire line of CH to keep Master Marksmanship and I wonder what the rest of you out there would think of that?

This could be a bit tricky(besides the fact that the +5 rifle speed from MM could be nearly worthless after the CB hits), but I'd say if you are reasonably able to judge your capabilities against what you are trying to fight, you could get MR/MM/MCH and not worry about the Medic. It needs a nerf anywaysconsidering the amount of healing power it gives you for getting just the Novice box, so I'd say to expect that one to change for sure after the CB

With MCH, you can have 3 nice tanks just keeping your prey at optimum range with you spammingSS2 at the cap(all you need is +2 more rifle speed ).

Another Option is to get MR/MCH/Medic 4/2/4/0 and the first box of Ranged Support from Marksman(for /aim and +2 ranged defense-w00t! ). If you did this though, you're probably going to want to get +7 in rifle speed tapes to reach the cap. Of course you could just use Flushingshot2 rather than SS2 and be very close to the cap without any tapes. And with this much Medic you can heal your pets quite well instead of just yourself!

Hope that helps. I'm sure Barb-Wire can tell you more if she sees this thread

If you have the money for some rifle speed then the master marksman isnt that important. Its pretty worthless to have the carbine and pistol lines of marksman if you arent getting master. If you can't afford the rifle speed, my vote is for dropping medic and getting master marksman...it makes your dps jump so much!

If you aren't going to keep Master Marksman. Then you may want to consider also dropping your Pistol, Carbine, and some or all of your Ranged Support. This will free up a fair amount of skill points.

However if you really want the Master Marksman box, you would be best off sacrificing some of your Scout skill. You'd have to drop three boxes total, so maybe 3/0/2/0 or 2/0/3/0 depending if you would rather harvest or have terrain negotiation.

If it were me i'd drop the 26 points you're wasting in carbines and pistols and put it into medic or something, unless you like having a variety of guns.

with your template that includes pets, i highly reccomend getting this as your final template.

MCH/MR

Medic 4-3-4-0

Scout 4-0-4-0

Marksman 4-0-0-0

0 Skill points left.

you only need +7 in rifle speed tapes etc to hit the cap with this template, which isnt that hard to obtain if you have enough credits or luck in the loot area. the medic allows you to heal with stim d's which pop for up to 2800 per use. (with pets you need damn good healing so you can get your pets back into fighting shape quickly and efficiently imo)

you can use first aid, drag your buddies body if he dies to where your doc is etc. just an all-around nice template for pve imo. pvp ofc you will rely on your rifle ability and how well u can kite, but heh thats how it goes for ranged anyway.
