Thread: Rifleman in PVP?

I can't assert that I'm anywhere near an expert rifleman PvPer. I have been having a bit of success with the FlurryShot/Supression Fire combo. I use a DLT20a since the idea is not massive damage by special effect. If you get them on their back, then you can pull out the firepower and bleed them. If you're feeling merciful (but not until toward the end, heh), pop a HeadShot into them. The spraystick also works well with the FS/SF for a quick takedown.

Here's an idea I've toyed with that might be fun: Building on the TEF idea, make sure you've removed and profession title from your character. Then wander around Anchorhead looking for freshly spawned mission points. Go up and stand by the NPCs in their camp. You might get lucky and have some reb see you're name and think you're one of those Jabba or Valarian type NPCs that has a name with no description. When they come in for the kill. . . .

Thats evil

Funny as heck, but evil. But don't you have to be overt to attack a player with a TEF? If you don't you just thought of our only real camoflage. Make them think we are NPC's LOL.

except that you don't have a "con" next to your name

also, the dizzy/suppression fire doesn't work because they don't fall down if their posture is forced.

I've got a laser rifle, stats are 22-402 or something like that, with 6.2 speed. (I could be off, I just got it.) Here's my beef, and I'm looking for some suggestions.

I love pvp. All I wanna do is hunt with my friends and grind until I am a Master Rifleman for pvp. Problem is, I can nail an npc for -2222 head shot, then turn around and head shot a pc for -100. It costs me -100 to use my highest head shot.

I'm desperately looking for some suggestions or idea on what to do in pvp. In all honesty, I am having more success using my spraystick. I think the spraystick should be a tool for the rifleman, a secondary weapon, defiantely not our main. I didn't become a Sniper to use the spraystick as a pistol at 30m.

I'm sure this problem isn't 'new' or this isn't the first post, but I've read through a bit and can't find any suggestions or even very many pleads to fix this? I think the 75% reduction slaughtered riflemans.

Maybe if we're taking a 2.5 damage increase, we should get a 2.5 damage increase?

mind-bleed

all we have left really.. if u're just a rifleman...

as it is, rifleman as a solo profesion really sux. we're more of a side-class.. like a combat medic or something (except that we can't heal)... so pick up something else, use the mindbleed to your advantage.. and thats all i can say =(....

yep use the mindbleed. I liked rifles before the 75% damage in PvP... hey, atleast I didn't have to mindbleed people and burden them with a bunch of mind wounds?

Anyways, you don't have to be a masterrifleman to enjoy PvP. I'm novice rifleman except for the first level of Sniping Accuracy. I hunt rebels all the time, especially on the outskirts of anochorhead. When soloing, the trick is to catch them by surprise. Use the TEFs. When a covert player attacks an enemy factioned NPC (ie, a rebel player attacks a stormtrooper) then then they get a Temporary Enemy Flag. That means they are attackable by enemy Overts. They can defend themselves, but they can't attack. Of course, before the 75% pvp damage nerf this was much more fun because I could 1 or2 shot the coverts with TEFs and kill them before they could react. But it is still viable now. If you see a covert attack some enemy factioned NPCs, wait till he's busy and then hit him with a mind bleed. Then peace and lay off and watch him bleed, he won't notice you usually. Then hit him with some headshots.

You don't even have to be cheap with TEFs, you can fight other Overts too. Just use your mind bleed and stay out of range. Lead them into freindly NPC camps, or play ring-around-the-rosy with buildings, thats what I do

Remember, they cant heal the mind damage you're doing. If you're viting a zabrak tho you're out of luck. They just Equilibrium and stimpack

How good is rifleman in PvP? Right now I'm Novice BH (I want it for RP), so I want to PvP and either go BH/Rifleman or BH Master? What do you suggest?

no offense, but you're a community elder and you haven't figured out that rifleman is just about king when it comes to pvp?

If you want to RP a BH, then go master BH, if you want to be very good in PvP, then master rifleman.

community elder status means nothing more than the account has been open a while.

To the original poster:

BH/Rifle is a poor combo, as you can't afford the skill pts to be good at either one. It's all or nothing, and as of right now, BH's suck in pvp because they don't have high damage shots, or any defenses.

Riflemen are still good in PvP, but I don't think we're the undisputed kings. That still goes to CM's.

TKM/Fencers suck too, unless you have stun resist composite and an Imp PSG.. and Pikeman is now the new FOTM because of DoT pikes... they're mini-cm's, effectively.

I believe the technical term is "CM on a Stick" (tm).
