Thread: Thinking of switching to rifleman, Need info pls

I am currently Swordsman/Doc and love it. I can solo basically anything in the game with ease but I want a change.
The only ranged profession I havnt tried yet is Rifleman so it seems natural that I go for it.
My questions are:
Will I be able to solo well with rifleman / Doc? just as well as swordsman?
Will the lack of melee mitigation make me weak aginst all melee?
Will I be more effective in pvp with rifleman/doc than I am with swords/doc?
What is the best weapon to use while grinding my way through rifleman?
Any other comments is good.

You will be able to solo.

You will not be weak. Just use some high kinetic armor.
Will I be more effective in pvp with rifleman/doc than I am with swords/doc?
Maybe a little bit more effective. It all depends on what template you are against.
What is the best weapon to use while grinding my way through rifleman?
T21 (or Laser Rifle) with a speed slice or speed powerup.
Any other comments is good.

I was a Swordsman/Doc before and it was great. I got tired of melee so I tried Rifleman. A low level Swordsman seems to be better than a low level RiflemanIMHO in terms of how fast I finish lairs (probably because of the Swordsman's spin attacks). But when I hit Master Rifleman...WOW! It's very powerful in PvE.

I'm also going rifleman, after being a BH on my other server...things got boring, and i tried Melee classes...theyre not for me, i dont like em at all, so i figured i'd try Rifleman. Once i get novice Rifleman, what tree should i go up?
I saw someone say counter sniping 3, then the Geonosian caves?
Any reasons/help is appreciated.
