i've been slowly moving away from BH recently and have been looking at several difference templates. i mostly PVP with this character, and occasionallygo for the high end PVEso thats my big aim. i've decided i want a min of M.Rifles, CM 44x4. after that i'm undecided. so i have a couple of ideas if anyone could help me out:

M.Rifles, M.CM, pistols xx33 + FS speed

+15 sec paralyse

+high chance of DOTs sticking

+30 secroot (perfect for setting up a good sniper shot attack from range)

+ intimidate (replace need for KD to get a bonus 20% over the oppponent - just for my defences rather than attacking)

+ Battle armor certified (nice if i ever do go PVE)

- can only spam between headshot & startle for x1.8 and x1.5 dam multiple (perahps +150 damage per shot less)

- no KD

M.Rifles, M.CM carbines x33x + FS speed

+15 sec paralyse

+high chance of DOTs sticking

+KD shot (combine with paralyse and sniper shot for an occasional huge damage shot)

+ Battle armor certified (nice if i ever do go PVE)

+can spam between headshot &leg for x1.8 and x1.9 dam multiple

- no root (have to rely on paralyse instead)

M.Rifles, CM 44x4, Carbines x3xx, Pistols xxx3 + FS speed

+30 sec root

+can spam between headshot &leg for x1.8 and x1.9 dam multiple

- lower chance of DOTs sticking

- only cirtified for Recon armor (only an issue Vs the few melee guys and wookies with bowcasters)

- 5 sec paralyse (have to rely on root instead)

- no KD

- lack of battle armor balanced by use of thyroid and electro drain for PVE

was kinda helping that'd help me just writing it out, but i'm more unsure than ever! want to do those nice high damage snipershots mid fightwith the opposition controlled if poss, but like to still be effective in PVE. and root is always usefull in group PVP as the FR3 jedi dissaperars over the horizon.

perhaps the third works best - i can still wear battle amor, but only fire 10% slower, i can root & hit hard constantly and combine root with aim/snipershot, i could hit a guy for +2000 pts from 65m away!

Here's a template I worked out for you and I think is pretty uber.

MRM: Best damage, best range.
MCM: Great healing, DoTs and States sticking and effectiveness.
M. Marksman: General Ranged Accuracy +25 and General Ranged Speed +15 make a huge difference. Lethal shot is very nice as well.
Pistoleer: 0001: Pistols is better than carbine as you get general ranged accuracy in novice as opposed to carbine giving carbine acc. Alot of PvP templates have KD so there will most likely be alot of timers on enemies. Root is less common and with rifle range or to get some distance after applying MCM states very nice.

I'm a big fan of M. Marksman and wish I could fit it into my MBH/MRM template.

Edit: Forgot to mention this includes your FS speed as well as FS Ranged accuracy +9 (3rd box)

it really depends on what kind of PvP you're into.

Number one is the best in group PvP, the root is huge, it allows your melee guys to focus on one target, and stops jedi from forcerunning away. The damage you sacrifice won't effect the group as a whole much at all.

If you're a duelist i like template two the best, root is nice against melee and jedi, but i can't justify giving up so much damage (either by losing leg hit, or less consistant and damagingDoT's) enough to grab it. you have a KD, multiple snares and delays... you're going to be hard to catch regardless.. the most annoying duels will be against enhancers with forcerun.. try to time your KD so that he flies by you.

choice three isn't bad, it's just a lot less specialized... a decent compromise between the two if you can't decided, but i'd still go with 1 or 2 if it were up to me.

I used to be MRifles, MPistols, Carb 0440, MMarksman + force ranged speed

My accuracy and speed were through the roof. I dueled a MDef jedi in my guild, best I could do was get him down to about 1/4 force before he finally caught up with me.

Awesome offense but absolutely no healing and very little defense.

My new temp is MRifles, MCM, Carb 0430 + force ranged speed.

I was going to keep the pistols but the root in 0003 just didn't seem to be worth it, vs the KD since I already had the paralyze.

Plus with the carbs I also have a really good snare. I never use Battle armor, recon has better energy defense from what I have seen, plus it always seems to be cheaper than battle.

I really do miss the speed and accuracy from my first template but The heals, and dots are pretty nice.

Master Marksmen Master Rifle Master Carbineer 3404 Pistoleer

you need a doc or cm along (who does not have one around now?) and your offensive power is outrageous as is your speed and accuracy.

though my temp has BH in it what i'm about to say bhas nothing to do with that... you can get heal for about 900 with medic 0/2/0/0 and a medical eff +25 so thats the healing i have in my temp, and if you want even more then that you could go with 0/2/4/0 to heal for 1k plus, less with toss but hey, thats 2 healing abilities that when both used can heal for quite a bit

Squad Leader will be another option to look into after Patch 24 goes live. Its got a pretty good range of buffs, not to mention the skillmods are about the same as what you'd get in BH boxes. If you group up a lot, it will especially be nice, but most of the stuff works when you're solo, too.
