Thread: Few thngs i think Rifleman Needs..

Along with some more speed, I do think Rifleman need more meele defense as you only get +35 at master (not including mods)


Also i think Rifleman should be able to have an abilty to "scope" a target. Like per instancne an abilty to zoom in on a target and hit it,

I disagree.


I think we should have a Melee penalty.I think it equalizes the combat as those melee profs are supposed to dish out less damage. As a riffleman, the Melee artist should be hurting by the time he reaches you even if he can heal. Of course, if knee cap shot was working...




What would scoping do in your opinion?

Riflemen should get a mod as you work the sniper tree that negates agro to the point of almost none at master, remember that a sniper is felt and heard but you dont know who did it. id rather have mobs not know who the heck just popped them in the head then have melee resistance. rule one of being a sniper is not letting the enemy know whos guilty.

Well imo, I think it would help long ranged sniping shots. I know sometimes i have a problem seeing an animal or something from 65m away

Im afraid i must also disagree. rifleman are built to hit a target from a long distance such as 65 meters. covershot, snipershot and long range are all built to fight ranged players, and to kill meelee players before tehy reach you.

i think we should have the option (like scoping) to shoot even FURTHER but take our defense down about 100 pts


also, when using cover shot, it should have a MUCH longer timer, but doesnt auto target you when you shoot an opponent. using cover shot against most ppl (if they have healing) is useless, a burst run doesnt take too long to get u to 80m


EDIT: the further range would only work w/ a few attacks like snipershot, conceal shot, etc..and u almost always have to use AIM 1st..

basically this will not change - they want us to be a ranged profession (how with broken snares and our weapon encumbrance I don't know but there it is)

dosent concealed shot basically do what you want from scoping? you can pull just one target out a mob, say pikets. or even krayts. they all aggro for a sec then lose aggro, and the one original target slowly wonders away from the mob, torwards you. and you do your thing, works for me, i just wish you didnt have to go cover to do it for time reasons.

Sounds to me like he wanted a range bonus too. Like 80-100 meters off the bat along with that Melee def bonus. But again. at 65 meters you can take 2-3 shots at a melee opponent before he reaches you and if Knee Cap worked you could probably improve that more.

Every time i try to pull with conceal, maybe works on a non-social, non-aggro creature. But then, with pikets, about 6 of his friends, get the ? and then !. If i stop for any reason, one will run straight to me, even though i /mask and /cover. Of course, when the one breaks cover, guess what his friends do? And as far as krayts go, kite the one and the other will break aggro and rtb. Simple as that

When I start from 60m away, I can usually get in 3 conceal shots before it gets close enough to see me. The first one usually causes ?'s to appear on any nearby mobs/NPCs, but then you wait for it to get closer, and after that, should be far enough away that the others dont care anymore. If you start from 20m, then you are not far enough away to draw just one at a time.

It's def matters how far away you are from your target i suggest maxing out your range what ever it is, then conceal shot.

with pikets they can be tricky i hear what you mean about others aggroing. this happens to me if i dont pull the right piket from the mob. basically you wanna pull one thats at the front of the mob so it actually wonders away from the mob. pull one in the middle or the back, or back sides. of the mob it wont make it very far from the mob before it sees you and aggros and the others will aggro too. i think its on a timer, you have enought time to get off about 3 conceal shots before it sees you. and if you conceal once and stop, when its "stupid" timer runs out it will see you and charge anyways. pull the closest one, and if you do it from far enough out it will work for ya with out aggroing the others. how ever its a pretty bad idea to take piket missions and conceal pull them one at a time, who wants to wait on the group riflemen to do that slow process. just stright out shoot 1 aggro 2 others and get to killing Conceal is most usefull to me on black sun mobs
