The question is simple: is the Marksman 4th column worth picking for master riflemen?
I'm 4-0-0-4 marksman atm (and 4-3-3-4 rifleman), but I'm planning on surrendering it (except for the first box: "aim") to free some SP... I'm doing it also because I noticed using it very rarely, if never, except for a few warning shots every now and then... useful only if hunting big creatures without buffs, and if my pet does not aggro the mobs (I'm a CH too).
For the bonuses I don't really know, it seems there is only a +4 ranged defense, +2 melee defense and +20 (or so) ranged aim (useful for the aim command)...
What's your idea?

it can be useful but on the whole most rifleman surrender the column when they reach master. Pretty much the only reason to hold onto that column is if you are holding on to master marksmen to reach cap easier

If you have the points to spare for it, you get the benefit of Suppression Fire at x/x/x/4 Marksman. This, along with Flurry Shot2 can cause the fish effect of dizzy / KnockDown. Suppression fire lowers the target's position - when they choose to raise up from a kneeling posture, they have a chance to fish flop.
So, if kiting a melee this can be effective since they need to raise up to continue chasing you

Also with the 4th Column of Marksman you get THREATEN SHOT, which can be very effective with Master Rifleman.

I use this tactic quite a bit when hunting NPC's. It doesn't seem to work that great on creatures, but does wonders on the NPC's.
As for the threaten shot, it can be a useful tool against creatures. Threaten, suppress and strafe 2 is a nice tactic for dealing out a lot of damage while taking little to none against creatures.
Hope that helps you a little.

i think any Master Rifleman who is serious about using Rifles, should have Master Marksman for the added speed and accuracy bonuses. I beleive you are only +2 off the speed cap with Master Marksman/Rifleman.

That is a matter of opinion. A Master Rifleman does not need Master Marksman to be powerful, the elite profession holds it's own there. Some people just want to use the SP elsewhere.
