My skills:

CH 4/4/1/4 (Can handle lvl 50 pets) (and most of the scout tree)

Rifleman: 4/4/1/4 (and of course, Marksman)

Medic: 0/4/0/0

Ohh...and I'm an uber wookie! So I have extra few ham points and NO armor! Go wookies :-(

Rebels were in force in Theed last night on Naboo... I engaged at LEAST 60-70 times, my average life-span (firing from 60-64m): I MAYBE got 1-2 shots off before being incap'd. On the rare occasion, I could get a few pets in on someone, but it was usually flame-thrown (mind you, these are 9.7k to 11.7k HAM pets with 60% resists, except the Graul Mauler which has 75% kenitic, and like 30% energy).

ALL of the pets were terminated within 5-10 hits. Melee would crush the pets in no time, while the person would take little damage.

I would routinly knocked down (their first hit), then destroyed.

The ONLY up-side to this 'wonderful' experience is that it was done in Theed, so I didn't have to keep paying 260 credits to die in 1-2 hits, I could die for nearly free...whoopie!

Now, you might say... I'm a "support" class, fine... But basically, once I'm in range to fire, so is the enemy... and if I hit them, I'm their immediate target (as u know, it'll auto target if the target isn't under attack), which means basically, I'm going to get shot back immediatly.. but I can't compete against 1-2 shots, knock down, and taking 500-700dmg/hits.

Talk about not fun!!! So... I guess I need to know what professions to play so I don't get owned like this... Because Riflemen+CH basically is: Find a solo target, send pet in from 80m...wait for him to get close, fire dot... Sprint away, let him die..come back and sniper shoot.

Dissapointed,

Coz

First off you were trying to playe TEF tag in a city, and secound if they were taking out your pet with ease you were outnumbered, or were fighting a opponent much more experienced then you were. Nothing is wrong with the profession, it is your decission making that is in question.

Lol. WhatI can gather from your post is that...because you and your graul maulers can solo 5-6 lair mobs at once, you think you should be able to solo 5-6 players at once.

The CH class is turning this game into a stinking heap of graul dung.

lol dude its all tactics. I PvPed for maybe an hour last night and I got about 384 FP points. Were not liek commandos we cantjsut run up flame, oneshot people and laugh you have touse your head.Maybe it meansusing something other than a laser. I've said it on these board once and I will say it again. Jus tbecause your laser does 38-500 damage doesn't mean its always the best to use. You need to carry a variety of guns. And stratagy is a must. Last night I killed some commando's. Stratagy. Plus if theres 10 rebels and your alone expect to die. Where as if you can find a group of imps even 3-4 with the right skills you can take down quite a few before you ride the clone express. I was lucky I had another master riflemen he was harassing with me. I would watch his back, he'd watch mine. Along with a BH that was in the group. We kicked some a$$.

Sorry if I sound mean, but its the way the game works. Plus if you gunna use a pet get a Reptilian Flyer up on Danothmir. There are some with 100% effectiveness against come of the commando's favorite weapons. lol but that goes with stratagy and theres a real lack of that around.......

A couple of skill decisions really hurt you:

rifle 4-4-1-4 Leaves out flushing2, the best non-master PvP shot. Also leaves out almost all rifle defensive mods. (they really do make a difference) If you dont have the points to go further in rifle, you should REALLY think about going 4-1-4-4 instead.

Medic 0-4-0-0 you're fast, but not very effective.

Tactics are very different for a rifleman. If you are going prone, you are dead. It is all fire and move. The critical feature is that our AOE attacks are the most effective. Mind bleed is a good revenge attack (you know you get 1-2 shots before you die) but the real damage is AOE.

Attack the people shooting your pets. (lead with the pet) Take a couple of shots and move. Break LOS. pop back out with another shot. DO NOT STAY IN ONE PLACE. you are correct that if they see you you are probably dead so work to not be seen. dont fight in the open, make sure you use the best weapon for the target (T-21 is great for targets wearing armor, but if not HAM reduced is too high to use all the time)

I'd Defintly go Medic (0,0,4,0). I've seen 901 Heal Stim Ds with 40 med use.

On an aside, 3 hours of PvP isn't going to get you anywhere either. There are definately some ups and downs in PvP - give it a chance. Nothing is more satisfying than bleeding someone, bursting away, and watching them keel over.

Actually, I find the mind bleed, burst, letting the bleed tick a couple times and ending the fight with a headshot the most rewarding.

Yea I like that too! Last time I did PvP 3 highly skilled Imps attacked AH. I came in from a mission, overt and saw them. I ran up, poped a mind bleed or 2 at 2 of them and I got incapped and slain. But now they were bleeding. I cloned ran out of town they direction I saw them take off in. Found them both sitting just out side AH with very low mind. I incapped both of them with one shot!

Although I've had bad experiences too. A BH with eyeshot kept killing me with revenge. Couldn't do anything about it. He was just better at mind damage than I.
