Thread: IS T21 worth it?
In pve armor matters (unless the mob is vulnerable, then armor pierce does not matter).
Your base Damage per second on the laser is about 40. The DPS on the t21 is 35.
Now, against a monster with armor none, the dps rises to 62.5 for the laser. The t21 is 68 (truncating all these numbers).
If the monster has armor 1 laser is 50 dps, t21 54.
If monster has medium laser 40 t21 43.
So, you see, in pve, the armor pierce heavy (basically ap 3) of t21 makes it better then a laser (AP 2) when the monster is not vulnerable to energy. In pvp, currently, if they have no armor on, the game treats it as if they are vulnerable, so, AP does not matter.
Some advice on bleeds. I do not use t21 on bleeds since the game ignores armor/resist for bleeds. Instead I use my laser (which has a higher top end and lower ham cost).

You have to factor in the armor piercing.
The baseline is "Vs. a critter with no armor, no relevant resists, and no relevant vulnerabilities."
The damage range for your Laser Rifle in this case is actually 105-984.
The damage range for the listed T21 under the same circumstances is 404-1098.
Since the damage distribution seems to be even, you can calculate the average damage for each weapon (in autofire mode) by adding the MIN to the MAX and dividing by two.
Average Damage per Shot for your Laser Rifle: 544
Average Damage per Shot for the T21: 751
The Damage/Speed ratio of your Laser Rifle is therefore: 95.6
The Damage/Speed ratio of the T21 is: 98.9
Keep in mind, this is not the WHOLE picture. This is comparing the damage output of two weapons in autofire mode vs. critters with no armor and no relevant resists or vulnerabilities. However, in general, if Weapon A is better than Weapon B against a no armor, no resist critter, it will still be better vs. critters with armor and/or resists. CAVEAT: This is not a concrete rule. If Weapon A is better than Weapon B vs. critters with no armor, but Weapon B has a higher AP rating than Weapon A, Weapon B will always outperform Weapon A vs. critter with the same AR as Weapon B's AP.
This also doesn't factor in HAM costs, which are a big part of the picture, especially for the T21 you're describing (which was probably made with a stock, and therefore will have some fairly impressive HAM costs to go with it).

For the look, mainly.
Also, the min dam doesn't lick the left nut. They do make REAL good bleed guns. The best tips I've read involve a T-21 for bleeding (MS1 and MS2) then switch to an e-11 for HS2 to speed things up.
Just hope for a dam slice. sacrifice goats, virgins, Virgin Goats... whatever it takes to get yourself a damage slice close to 30%. Then you would have a great bleed gun. The E-11 is good for a HS2 gun because you can get it 3.2 speed (sliced seems to max) and 100-200 damage with medium ap and darn good HAM costs.
