BecauseI tried it on a quenker lair and it didn't. So I'm curious, what are other people's experiences with this technique?

it appears to work

you must stand in the middle of the lair

target the lair and then spam the aoe...

causes creatures to spawn

they try to fix the lair

but are in range of the AOE affect.

so dead creatures...

not recommended but it is fast

that is the only thing i used the whole time lvling rifleman and it worked better then any other attack in the whole tree and i still use it some cuz when you target the lair you never miss any creature or npc within the range

Well, this trick just failed for me 5 times in a row. Am I missing something? Am I supposed to kill all the mobs around the lair first?

no ... it was supposed to hit the mobs while you shoot the lair... if it no longers does that then (I am happy) they may have fixed this by making the AOE range less again...

Well, I hit the mobs alright, but all the mobs attacked me instead of healing the lair. BTW, this advice is a little late, because I'm only about 26k combat xp from Master Rifleman. The closer I get, the more impatient I become, so that's why I'm trying out this trick.

How do you fail at something like that?

Yes, they will attack you AND heal the lair at the same time. Do this with regular quenkers. Anything higher will chew you up too fast. You can do this in decent marabi if buffed. Heck I did it in chitin.

Ah, well, that explains it. I don't wear armor and I don't buff except for a single brandy. Made Master Rifleman yesterday anyway.

You donot have to stay in the middle of the lair. The radius is aprox. 10 meters (or 15, can't remember). You will never miss the critters around if you spam on the lair. This is a bug that goes way back, but although it is an exploit by definition (abusing game bug?), no one seems to care Doing regular quenkers (not savage quenkers) in a solo group will get you there the fastest. In a solo group (provided there are at least 15 people or so), the lair will spawn 6 (or 5? can't remember)critters, instead of the usual 2-3, so you're looking at aprox. 50k xp per lair, or 100k in one run ! Savage quenkers take a lot longer to kill and although give more xp per critter, yield less xp per lair. I did this wearing just ubese boots and helmet.

**Edited: if you don't have combat xp stashed to take rifle abilities 1-3, you might wanna use a *fast* rifle with a speed pup. Something like an e11 or laser should do the trick, or if you're incredibly lucky to get a goodslice,a 5.0 spd T21 with a speed pup (~3.0-3.1 speed).

Okay... Since I've been Master forever (feels like it, anyway) I don't really care, but there is one thing that I dont understand. Our AOE attacks are not "circular" they are "conical"... or pie-shaped, if you will. So if you're standing inside a lair shooting it, are you telling me that there is a 12-15m radius of effect in ALL directions? If so, I kinda wish I knew that a long time ago.... dang...
