Rifleman Archive

between the NDA, the anonymity of the Rifle Five (team name still to be determined), and the likely focus of the sandbox testers on the sandbox itself (and the special 'sandbox forums' TH mentioned)... I'm not sure that this can be specifically answered.

after seeing some of the other professions 'declare' their Five, I don't envy ANY player that will be a KNOWN sandbox tester... their PM's are likely to go nuts, if nothing else.

if Waste had the time (and the desire), he could probably ask the Five to write a short bio, and post it here without names. while he might indeed WANT to do this, it would still take input from the Five... and the whole process will, if nothing else, cut into the TIME that the team ought to be spending testing and such.

can't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't pin too many hopes on it.

what I DO know is this: the profession went a LONG time without a correspondent... and when Waste was picked, he jumped right into his duties. he did his research on the forums (which surprised me, since he already seemed to be on top of the subject) and then started what has, so far, been a wonderful tenure as the rifle correspondent.

I've played ingame with Waste. I've argued with him in threads. I submitted my own application for correspondent alongside his. I'm a big fan of Waste. I trust him, and I trust his choices for the sandbox, whoever they may be.

Rifles doesn't need a nerf by name, it needs to be distinct and truly deadly only in the hands of someone who worked their way through the class. We've never really liked powergrinders on this board, and that is a reflection of the way I personally feel about the profession, and the wayI think most people who've been here a while feel the same way.
