Ok to start i am a master rifleman. Have been for a while and i love it. I dont grind much at all and prefer to take time and learn proffesions. I would like to hear if anyone has done this and if they have or even have done one of the proffesions then please give me some input.

Here goes.

Master Rifleman-obvious, lol.(Speed capped btw)

Medic 2-0-3-0: gives first aid and stim c's

Master Scout- for the pre reqs. ill need it

Ranger 0-0-3-0: for tracking npc and creatures and the harvesting bonus

Creature Handler 4-0-0-4: Chose this for the Speacial attack commands from tree 1 and for tree 4's additional pet plus group and train mount.

Im leaving the doctor world behind to do this though i have not started much yet. I have mastered scout before so i know it can be unforgiving for a basic proffesion. Also i have tried CH and ranger; though i have never gotton that high in CH so this is my biggest question mark as to how well i will do. For quick refererance my max Creature level would be 36 and i could use two pets to reach the level.

Any input would be greatly appreciated and long live old school rifleman/lizards.

And DE-10 here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous a55 in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin'. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.

By pve do you mean high end (killing nightsisters, etc.) or just slaughtering rancors/busting lairs?

Right now, CH -- in my experience, mind you -- is just a damage absorber, and not a very good one with high end content. So, being confined to lair-busting, pets are very effective; many argue, though, that droids are better, since they require no skillpoints.

To answer your question: good bio-engineered pets will be good for tanking anything that comes out of a lair; but send them against high end mobs (krayts, ns, etc) and they'll be slaughtered. I think I still like droids better, myself. /shrug

Ranger rocks. At Master, with BE clothing and terrata (sp?) you'll almost never be spotted, and rifleman allows you to do lots ofdamage while not being seen. I had this template for a loooooong time, and it's a lot of fun. I NEVER needed armor; I think I've actually had the same setof composite sinceJuly. Again though, not much here for focusing on high end mobs -- and that's the biggest reason why I gave up Ranger: you can only mutilate so many rancor lairs before you loose your mind, lol.

My opinion is that the best lair-busting template is Master Ranger/Master Rifleman with a good droid. For a speedcapped rifleman, and creature is going to die in approximately 10 seconds, lol, and I honestly can't justify all the extra skillpoints into CH for tanks that'll be just as effective as acombat droid in that scenario. Also, for fighting normal creatures, I can't justify all that medic you have. The special attacks with CHare ok, but if you really need those, Rangers have traps that can apply most states very effectively. About the only thing they don't have is intimidate.

If you're going to focus on high-end content, I'd say putCM, doc, maybe swordsman in your template are better bets. Honestly, IloveRanger, and when I tried CH ages ago I had a blast too, but there's just nothing to them that helpsinkilling elders, krayts, etc. (except finding them, lol).I'm trying Rifleman/CM right now, so I'll let ya know how that is.

However, if you're going for the creature killing/harvesting route, both Ranger and CH have their perks, and you're template there has a happy medium between the two.

Edit: I'm still a bigger supporter of Ranger over CH in low-end pve though. With auto-healing droids being almost as effective as creatures, and traps applying states just as good, I really don't see any reason to take CH unless you LOVE your pets or something. With ranger you'll get all that plus invisibilty with the camo kits.

Thanks for the comments. I do mean more high end pve as low end is basically sit back spam SS2 and watch everything fall before it touches me (kinda sad). I hear great things about droids but never used one (have a great one in deed form still though the auto healing type). The medic i have is definetly worth it for how i play as stim c's will save your life and so will first aid. I do occasionally pvp so stims area a must and for healing my tanks if i bring one.

Maybe i will drop CH in favor of the camo tree in ranger and ranged support tree as i just found out something i never thought of. dizzy/kd with rifles using suppresion fire!

Yeah, don't do CH or bring droids for high end pve, lol. You'll thank me later.

Personally, I'd get some TKA and/or Swordman, and dump the rest into medic (imo, 2040 medic is minimum).

Also, this thread needs to be stickied, darnit.

just go commando 0/0/4/0, smuggler 0/0/1/0... burn, play dead...

but if you wanna stay as rifles, go with swordsman... you get intimidate with novice brawler (big plus)... and you can focus with both weapons on the mind... put the rest in medic... also you get blast damage, and kinetic with swords... so you can kill all the NS types... melee dam mit is also a big deal...

heck the other night i tanked a canyon krayt unbuffed with just 80% comp, doubleshot of brandy, and a stack of B'stems with my TKM, let my commando friend cook it to a nice med-well... was out just chillin around the graveyard in my house and i spoted it on area track... sent him a /tell, 25 mins later he was there and buffed... outta 4 dragons we got: 3 pearls (premium) and one set of 10 tissues... only reason i even tried was to take the heat off him cause he forgot to check his armor...

i also was doing upto NS protecters last night with my TKM... only ran when 2 of them pulled out stun batons at the same time...

i've soloed most everything in the game... useing different templates... i must say the commando is the fastest kills for high end mobs... stack 4 burns, and intimidate and heal... the only thing is the lack of defences...

the most fun temp i had was MRifles/MCH/ranger 0/0/3/0... but i got bored with it after 6-8 months... so i started trying new things...

I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.
