My friend recently made it to Jedi Padawan. Usually, we hunt together to gather meat quicker as we each have two other characters who are crafters. Recently, he received an e-mail from a BH that said "pay the 25k or die." My friend conversed with the guy for a little bit and found out he was an MBH/Carbineer. So, I am curious as to what suggestions you long-term rifleman have against defeatingthis type of profession, as I am sure I'll be encountering him soon on our next hunt

Defeating MBH/Carbineer as a rifleman?

Same way you'd defeat most anyone else....flushingshot2 for the Stun, spam headshot3 for the win. Just watch out for his ranged KD/Dizzy action.

Of course, he must be hard on his luck if he only wants 25k. I'd pay him off, just to be nice.

pretty impressive for him to be a mbh/carbineer as most i know default to the tkm/bh combo. Carbineers are deadly because of their state attacks and dizzy/kd and posture down attacks. He will use the element of surprise against you to land his attacks.

First off, as a general rule of thumb, keep the overhead map up (ctrl+m by default) and enlarge your radar to 256m. That way you have a chance of seeing him coming. Remember that if you are the same faction as this bh, you (probably) won't get a tef to help out your friend. In that case, the best thing to do is heal your friend's damage, pick up as much medic as you can.

If you are able to attack, some good foods to eat are pikatta pie which increases your chance to dodge and citrus snowcake which increases your accuracy. Two reasons why, you'll want to evade his attacks and land your own. Thakitillo is anti-kd food so that might help against a few of his attacks. Make sure to leave enough room for synthsteak or exo-protein wafers to reduce damage if he manages to land that kd/dizzy.

Choosing the right rifle is important. I would start with the dxr-6 and kite him since the accuracy is a little better while running around. Since carbineers have area kd and state attacks, stay out of the 30 degree area of attack cone if he's aiming for your friend. If that rifle is less effective, try out the jawa and see if he's wearing a stun helmet. all else fails, go for the T21.

His template may not include much defense against states, so make sure to use flushing shot to stun him which will lower his attack dmg and defenses. If you or your friend has a posture down/kd attack, then use flurry to add a dizzy to him. keep him stated (and intimidated if possible).

As for your main attack... The unhealable mind pool is always nice to target. But if you see him not healing with stims, it may end up being more effective to use strafeshot2.

Just suggestions here, but thats how i might handle it.

From a BH/Carbineer turned Combat Medic, Rifleman. I was Carbineer Bh for many months, I was very good in a duel with my dizzy/kd, and dealing damage but random damage no carbineer bh uses action hit or leg shot. For you to beat him just knowing that you are a Rifleman i would say hopefully u got some defenses, or medic skills. He can't heal if he is a MBH/Mast Carbineer, they rather get nov brawler. But the one thing you must do is intimadate him, then probally just hit his mind, he wont kd you believe me his only goal is to kill the jedi. He will aim for the jedi and leave you for later or he will run after jedi is dead. I think you and a padawan could take him easy, hopefully u have other skills than just rifleman tho. Because i have killed many CM/Rifleman when a Carbineer which was a week ago. I truly thought the KD got nerfed some how i dont know, i didnt get my kd's as much. Put intimadate him lay on your states with flushing shot, and hit with mind shot for bleed then head shot 3 for damage, you should kill him before he even gets to you and maybe u could rez jedi or even save his life.

I have novice medic/2040 scout/MRifles/TKM, so I think I'll do the states with TKM (so i can intimidate, stun, dizzy, etc.) as I doubt he has that great of melee defense skills. If so, I'll just pull out my DXR and go from there :-p

grab posture down from marksmen and spam dizzy till it sticks then PD him. most ranged BH like to stay on the run which raises their ranged defense a PD will keel him over and get him flopping and thak food doesnt help vs PD.

once you got em PD then headshot for the win.

Be thankful he is a Master carbineer and not a Master carbiner with BH carbines and invest three, the extra skill poinst availible with that can make very formidaleble. The problem is, he will get first shot in, and once he gets you KD'd, he has so many different Kd's that he can keep you there almost indefinately. Your best best is to keep your distance from your friend, around 20m at least. That way he can't get you both. Remember, he can also set you on fire with torso shot, and that can skyrocket your BF real fast. (I'm a Master commando as well as rifleman, and I use that tactic on tough opponets) keep Thakitilo handy, both of you, and when he attacks, get him between you. He has miserable state defense, so Flurry Flushing him PD him, and then wail away with a T21. I would use the T21 over the acid rifle becuase counter attack is terrible for carbineers, and his ranged defense isn't that good either.
