There is much more than this that Combat Upgrade addresses but I thought it was important to show that we are working on the things you want in combat with this major effort. We will start rolling out the detailed information on Combat Upgrade as it exits the alpha test early this year, and enters closed beta. It is coming - it takes time. Cu wise is a real hard problem... every profession is probably trying to protect their view of what their turf is like and yelling and screaming that others should either a) not get that ability or b) we should get that ability. When you have to write the entire ground game from the foundations up and fix professions at the same time the amount of work involved is on the order of writing a full scale expansion or creating the game from scratch with the original bugs worked out (this time the bugs were play tested ^_^)

God i hate how people always complain about being able to solo rancors. Luke soloed a rancor with a rock and door in episode 6...it should be too hard to kill. Sorry just needed to vent that frustration.

Sorry man but read the sig. The combat B/R/U is 1 year and 1 month old, CH was brought "in line with the plan" in December of 03, shortly thereafter was the Bleed changes, then the Burn changes. I know it takes time but if they had not put it off for so long there wouldn't be as many complaints and Turf wars. Not to mention the Great Correspendent convention where they saw "the Documents" that were to be released soon after (2 weeks or so they were told) When was that Convention?

ROFL, actually it was a skull and about a 10 ton door, how many people do you see carrying around a 10 ton door solo to drop on rancors?

Erm Im carrying two bikes & a car, 8 full grown animals, 3 droids, a flight computer, 6 mining rigs, 2 suits of armour, 14+ rifles & half a dozen crates of food .... & other extragavances

there are a couple of things i want from the CU.



  1. DOTS removed and CM DOTS changed to the same range as a melee attack.

  2. end of HAM costs damaging you when you use a special

  3. removal of exceptional weapons and uber dot weapons

  4. the end primacy of melee skills over ranged skills in combat. im sorry but not even bruce lee can dodge a .45

  5. bh should get defenses against jedi at master

  6. pistols rule up close

  7. carbines rule midrange

  8. rifles rule long range

  9. jedi should be able to slice up meleers

  10. feign death moved to maste smuggler

  11. jedi hunting moved to master BH

  12. end of GTEF if you want to PVP go take up BH and hunt jedi or declare at the recruiter. along with this killing ST or Rebel NPC yield no faction unless your overt.

  13. non-overts should not be able to heal or helpoverts see #12

  14. intimidate and warcry moved to master brawler

  15. a special move point pool implemented and working much the same way that jedi force pool works.

  16. Combat medics actually should become combat medics and not poo flingers.

  17. dancers and musicians should be able to apply defensive and offensive buffs to the specials pools and should be able to buff defenses such as state defenses and accuracy and speed buffs.

  18. end of composite as the be all to armour each armour type should only protect against one type of damage.

  19. mandalorian armour more accesable to BH and should be the method by which BH can achieve lightsaber defense.

  20. removal of jedi robes as anyhting but a bad fashion statement. jedi should not be able tobeneift fromsocketed clothing period and their defenses and abilities should come within not from some dorky PJs

could name more but i gotta get back to work *sigh*

  4. the end primacy of melee skills over ranged skills in combat. im sorry but not even bruce lee can dodge a .45 have you ever seen Remo Williams? he can dodge a bullet. besides, done correctly I can own a melee stacker while unbuffed. As for pve, rifles does quite well too.

  5. bh should get defenses against jedi at master agreed. more like lower the mls 85% saber block to allow us all to get a shot. Jedi should know when to hold and when to fold. If theres a possiblity that a squad of 10 people can get 2-3 shots in, maybe it looks like the jedi should run. Its not an invincible prof. Another suggestion would be to add some critical pvp defenses to the MBH box... PC, KD, stun, etc.

  6. pistols rule up close agreed this should be the case.

  7. carbines rule midrange agreed this should be the case.

  8. rifles rule long range agreed this should be the case.

  9. jedi should be able to slice up meleers agreed this should be the case and its the reason why most BH take tkm.

  10. feign death moved to maste smuggler agreed, but make someone have a counter, e.g. RM surprise shot.

  11. jedi hunting moved to master BH agreed. but make MBH a viable alternative that includes def worth of a jedi v. bh fight

  12. end of GTEF if you want to PVP go take up BH and hunt jedi or declare at the recruiter. along with this killing ST or Rebel NPC yield no faction unless your overt. don't you want your friends to help you if you're in trouble?

  14. intimidate and warcry moved to master brawler yep its too powerful at the moment, at minimum drop intim dmg reduction percentage and warcry time delay to match one heal.

  15. a special move point pool implemented and working much the same way that jedi force pool works. didnt they suggest that this would be the case? or something along the lines of a fourth modifier to HAM that would drop your stat with each special and would be unhealable... kinda like wounds that slowly regen.

  16. Combat medics actually should become combat medics and not poo flingers. They are still nasty tho in the right hands. i think the meds stats should be prenerf and bump up the stats on doc poison/disease resists. leave fire to the commandos and bh.

  17. dancers and musicians should be able to apply defensive and offensive buffs to the specials pools and should be able to buff defenses such as state defenses and accuracy and speed buffs. negative. thats what chef food is for and those phat lewt drops that no one has seen.

  20. removal of jedi robes as anyhting but a bad fashion statement. jedi should not be able tobeneift fromsocketed clothing period and their defenses and abilities should come within not from some dorky PJs most other mmo's rely on uber loot to be good. yes you could get by as a straight skillpoint jedi. but whats separates the men from the boys is either a fat wallet to buy the sooper tapes or the patience to loot them. either way they get props for doing that and should be rewarded. however knowing who drops the best tapes, i've come across a number of KS squads who take the easy route. 'nuff said. how about fixing robes and making them more customizable... color, shape.

could name more but i gotta get back to work *sigh* i'm avoiding actually doing work...at work. please reply so i can waste another 10 minutes worth of pay from my boss
