If you are NOT yet 0004 then I am going to respectfully disagree with BrerLapin.

The normal speed on stock T21s is around 7.4. That is slow. When firing specials,the speed penalty is increased even more. I would recommend one of the following strategies:

1. You can get a really good Laser rifle as cheap (or cheaper) than a good T21. Now the Laser only has AP2 compared to the AP3 of the T21, but you can probably find a Laser that is at least 25% better damage than a T21 to make up for it.

For example:

I was able to easily find damage sliced Lasers at 560-580 max damage with speed 5.4. Now to get a T21 down to 5.4 speed, you would have to have a good speed slice, meaning the T21 would have only max damage of just over 400. So even though your Laser is 25% less effective with the Armor Piercing, the high damage more than makes up for it.

2. Ifyou do decide to go with a T21, go with Speed Sliced and maybe use Speed powerups.

Also, if you are NOT using the Mind foods/drinks, the Lasers have less HAM costs than T21s, typically.

start using it at novice. Make sure you got at least a 410 max damage t-21 and buy like 5 of them. Take them to get sliced and cross your fingers for a 30%+ slice.. than go invest in about 15 crates of speed pups and make this macro:

/pointblankarea1;

/Macro Name;

and go to endor killin anything and everything.

I wouldn't use thish macro unless your at least a master medic as you'll probable not be able to handle the mobs due to your slow firing.

I did rifleman with a decent spraystick, more accurate at close range, and faster =). Took me two nights of huurton huntresses and stalkers on dant.

I'm with Lennie about the spraystick. Great little guy for grinding. I didn't really bother with my T-21 till I was at xxx4, and then it was really only for bigger critters. Nothing like working over a quenker lair with a spraystick to have a random spawn lair of Slinking Voritor Hunters appear 12m away.

In reality though, while grinding up fast is wonderful, I would suggest picking up the primary calling cards of the rifleman profession (T-21, DXR-6b, Jawa Ion Rifle) and spend a bit playing around with them to break the monotony of the grind. It will also help get you into the habit of checking resistances on creatures and using the appropriate weapon as well as giving you a fee of the speed/damage output potential for each weapon.

At any rate, I hope you enjoy your time as a rifleman.

Yep, if you wanna get the grind done fast I say spraystick it till you have more speed. But if you want to get a feel for the profession and weapons, pick up the variety. One of our main advantages is our wide range of damage types.

/sigh I did the rifleman grind in 1.5 days with a laser rifle and a t-21. im telling you speed pups on a max damage t-21 and pointblankarea is better than you are probable thinking. making sure your on endor go to the smugglers outpost and head north. You'll be astonished with the xp. =P

lol and this is coming from a guy who's been a master rifleman since oct '03 and grinded it out 8 times due to drunken deleting template nights lol.
